Sometimes the child we’re worrying about isn’t the child in front of us.

We picture who they’ll be,
what they should have mastered by now,
what school will look like.
When they don’t match that picture, the worry kicks in.

But our children are changing all the time.
The child you’re finding tricky today won’t be the same child in six months.

A Tiny shift-instead of thinking
“How do I get them to where they should be?”

Think “Who is my child today, and what do they need from me right now?”

You can have hopes.
You just don’t have to parent a future version of them today.

Hope this helps.

Lets be more playful with toileting.

If you have a dinosaur lover grab my fr33 resource and have some fun with my dinosaur footprints. Older children can join in too cutting them out and making up tracks leading to secret places.
Drop me a DM for the link :)

I had to have a very steady hand for this reel lol.

Share below any tips you use to get little ones to take medicine.

It could help another parent with the cold months coming and more illnesses.

This week's Thursday Tiny Shift is the one more hub trap.

One more hug.
One more drink.
One more question.

Does this sound like your bedtime?

Sometimes children find the letting go at bedtime harder than the actual going to sleep.
You can offer connection without opening the door to an endless bedtime negotiation.
I see you.
I understand this is hard.
And bedtime is still bedtime.
Connect.
Name it.
Then hold the boundary.

If bedtime boundaries are something you're working on at home, I've got a resource inside my Parenting Hub that might help.

The Boundary Starts with You
A Parent's Guide to Calmer, More Confident Boundaries

Because sometimes the biggest shift isn't changing our child's behaviour.
It's changing how we hold the boundary.

Drop me a DM to find out more about my hub.

I hear this from parents often.

"I'm trying so hard to be patient. "

You know your little one is having big feelings.

You know they're not giving you a hard time on purpose.

But you've been needed since the minute you opened your eyes, you've reheated your tea three times, and now the toast is wrong.

THE TOAST. 😩

And suddenly, you're the one having big feelings.

It doesn't mean you're a bad mum. It means you're human, too.

You can understand your child's feelings and still feel overwhelmed by them.

You can know all the right things to do and still struggle to do them when you're running on empty.

You don't have to get it right every time.
You can pause, reconnect and try again.

And if today has felt like one long battle over things that make absolutely no sense to anyone over the age of five, you're in good company.

Send this to a mum who needs reminding that she's not the only one.

This week’s Thursday Tiny Shift is Confidence comes before pressure.

A child who is scared of getting it wrong may hold on, avoid or resist.

Notice the step, not just the result.

Praise the sit, not just the poo.

Celebrate growing independence.

Notice their body awareness.

Make the bathroom a place where they feel safe and supported, even when nothing comes out.

Because confidence grows when children discover.....................

“I can do this.”

🌱 Plant seeds, not pressure ( what my September emails have been all about)

More toileting support inside my Parenting Hub.
