Minster on Sea Parish Council was delighted to award £1,500 to the Salvation Army Sheerness from our Community Support Fund to support their Christmas Toy Appeal.

This hugely successful annual scheme makes a real difference to local families in need, helping to ensure children receive toys and presents at Christmas and can enjoy the magic of the festive season.

We are proud to support such a worthwhile initiative and the fantastic work the Salvation Army does to support our local community.

❤️❤️❤️
Minster on Sea Parish Council has now decorated parts of the parish with our reusable poppies, helping us come together and honour those who have served and sacrificed for our country.

As we approach Remembrance Day on 11 November, these poppies serve as a poignant reminder of the courage, service and sacrifice of our Armed Forces, past and present, as well as those who lost their lives in conflict. We will take the opportunity to pause, reflect and remember.

We purchased these reusable poppies last year, and after displaying them through November 2025, we carefully took them down and stored them and have been so happy to use them again this year, and we hope they will continue to be part of our parish’s Remembrance displays for many years to come.

Our poppies will remain in place until the end of November, so keep an eye out for them as you make your way around Minster on Sea.

We will remember them.

🤩🤩🤩
Wow! What an amazing day at Minster Gatehouse Museum We were delighted to welcome over 100 visitors to the Museum today, for FREE!

Adults and children got stuck into all the fun, with colouring, chalk art, a witch counting competition and a spooky ghost hunt. There was plenty to keep everyone entertained, and it was wonderful to see so many smiling faces.

One of the best parts of the day was welcoming people who have lived on the island their whole lives but had never visited the museum before. It was equally lovely to see familiar faces returning.

Minster on Sea Parish Council was proud to fund the museum’s opening for the day, making it free for everyone to enjoy. We also provided complimentary teas, coffees, squash and biscuits to keep everyone refreshed.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along and an even bigger thank you to all the volunteers who run the museum day to day. It’s wonderful to see our local history bringing the community together.

The big question is… can we reach 200 visitors next year?

Minster on Sea Parish Council were delighted to donate £1000 to the EKC Dementia and Community Cafe, a wonderful initiative bringing people together over delicious cake, friendly company and entertainment.

The cafe provides a warm and welcoming space for people living with dementia, those experiencing loneliness, and anyone who simply fancies a lovely slice of cake and a good chat.

We’re proud to support a scheme that makes such a positive difference to our local community, helping people connect, feel included and enjoy time together.

Their next event is on Remembrance Day, Wednesday 11 November 2026 at 2.30pm at EKC Secondary School. The afternoon will be preceded by a commemorative tree planting. Please see below poster.
