"Dad, if he was here, would be immensely proud." 💙

Yesterday, we hosted the community launch of the Newfield Green Community Mental Health Centre and the renovated Terry Wright Community Hall.

We were honoured to welcomed Terry Wright's wife, Fran, and daughter, Tracy to the event so they could see how we are supporting people in the local community.

The centre is open 24/7 for anyone who needs help with their mental health.

Here's what they had to say about the new centre.

Newfield Green Neighbourhood Mental Health Centre is officially open! 🎉

Today we’re joining local people, staff, volunteers and partners to celebrate the community launch of the new centre and the renovated Terry Wright Community Hall.

We are absolutely delighted to welcome the family of Terry Wright to formally open the centre and community hall.

It is a major milestone following the Gleadless and Heeley neighbourhood mental health centre pilot and represents a new way of bringing mental health care and community resources together in Gleadless Valley.

The centre is open 24/7 for anyone who needs help with their mental health.

Salma Yasmeen, our chief executive, said:

“Today is a celebration of what can happen when communities, staff and partners work together. We’ve created something that goes beyond traditional mental health services. This is a welcoming community resource, rooted in Newfield Green and built with the people who live here.”

A huge thank you to everyone who has contributed, shared their experiences and ideas, supported the pilot and helped bring the new centre to life. 💚

Congratulations to our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion team, Ethnically Diverse Staff Network Group and everyone involved in this fantastic achievement! 🏆

The team recently won the Culture and Heritage Award at the UNISON Yorkshire and Humberside Black History Month Awards.

They were nominated by Unison: Sheffield Community Health branch for their work on our Black History Month food hamper campaign, which shares a selection of treats with colleagues across the Trust. The branch also generously supports the initiative by funding the food included in the hampers.

Started five years ago by our ethnically diverse staff network, the campaign has grown into a much-loved Black History Month tradition.

A fantastic achievement and well-deserved recognition. Congratulations to everyone involved! 👏

This , we’re encouraging everyone across Sheffield Partnership to get talking about menopause 💬

Menopause is a natural stage of life, but it can bring significant physical and emotional changes.

By talking openly, we can raise awareness, challenge stigma and make sure people feel understood and supported. We all have a part to play in creating a culture where these conversations feel normal.

If you work at our Trust look out for events about menopause happening over the next week. Let’s talk, listen, learn and support one another 💙

Today we welcomed Sheffield’s Lord Lieutenant, Dr Julie McDonald, to our art exhibition, 'things that make me smile'. Run in collaboration with Sheffield Flourish and supported by Sheffield Hospitals Charity, the exhibition is now open at the Workstation in Sheffield.

The collection features more than 200 works by artists and contributors from across the city with lived experience of mental health, carers, and those working in support services.

The theme for the exhibition is ‘things that make me smile’ which was chosen by SHPU service users and members of the CAST art group at Sheffield Flourish. Each artist has approached the theme from their own viewpoint.

The exhibition celebrates the power of creativity to support our mental wellbeing and recovery from mental illness.

The exhibition is free to visit and runs until the end of this month. Open Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm; and Sundays from 10am to 1pm.
