🎃 Halloween is Almost Here! 🎃

As part of Nuisance Week, your local neighbourhood policing team would like to remind everyone to enjoy Halloween safely and responsibly.

Halloween can be a great opportunity for families and communities to come together, but it's important to remember that what may seem like harmless fun to some can have a significant impact on others.

Please be considerate of your neighbours, respect people's property, and help ensure everyone can enjoy the festivities without fear of anti-social behaviour.

Parents and guardians are encouraged to speak with young people about making sensible choices, particularly around trick-or-treating, fireworks and respecting those who may not wish to take part.

🤝 We are also working with local stores and businesses across the area, encouraging responsible retailing during the Halloween period. Many retailers have agreed not to sell flour or eggs to anyone under the age of 18 unless they are accompanied by an adult. These items have unfortunately been used in previous years to target people, homes, vehicles and businesses, causing distress and damage within our communities.

Together, we can help make Halloween a fun, safe and enjoyable occasion for everyone across Rural East and Rural West Shrewsbury.

👮 If you witness anti-social behaviour or have concerns, please report it to us.

Have fun, stay safe, and look out for one another this Halloween.

🎃 Final Halloween Engagement - Come and Meet Your Local Neighbourhood Team 🎃

With Halloween just around the corner, this will be our final engagement event as part of our Halloween and anti-social behaviour awareness campaign.

📍 Pride Hill, Shrewsbury
🗓️ Thursday 29th October 2026 - TODAY!
⏰ 11:30am - 12:30pm

Come and speak with your local neighbourhood policing team about:

✅ Halloween safety
✅ Responsible use of fireworks
✅ Anti-social behaviour and how to report it
✅ Support available within your local community

We will be handing out free "No Tick or Treat Here" leaflets and providing guidance to help keep Halloween enjoyable for everyone. Any leaflets remaining after the event will be available to collect from the front counter at Monkmoor Police Station.

🤝 We are also continuing to work closely with businesses across the town centre to help reduce anti-social behaviour over the Halloween period. Many retailers have agreed to only sell items such as flour and eggs to persons under 18 when accompanied by a responsible adult.

This is not about stopping young people from enjoying Halloween. Unfortunately, flour and eggs are often used to target people, homes, vehicles and businesses, causing distress, damage and nuisance to members of our community. By working together, we hope to reduce this behaviour and ensure Halloween remains safe and enjoyable for everyone.

🎆 As Halloween comes to an end, we'll be turning our attention to firework safety. We will be haring advice on the law, safe use of fireworks and how we can all play a part in keeping our communities safe during the Bonfire Night period.

👮‍♂️ If you're in town, please stop by and say hello. We'd love to meet you and discuss any concerns you may have.

🎃🎆

Three people have been arrested after perfumes from Boots store in Kidderminster were stolen and a delivery van in Shrewsbury was taken.

At around 12.45pm yesterday (Tuesday 27 October) officers were called to reports of a theft at the Boots store on Weavers Wharf in Kidderminster.

Fragrances with an estimated value of around £2,000 were taken by three suspects. When officers arrived the suspects had already fled the scene.

Then at 4.01pm a member of the public contacted police to say a delivery driver's van had been taken from Trinity Way in Shrewsbury.

Officers responded and quickly located the vehicle, and two men aged 22 and 35, and a woman aged 22, were arrested on suspicion of theft. All three remain in police custody as enquiries continues.

It is believed the three arrested are linked to the incident in Kidderminster earlier in the day.

Sergeant Amanda Hayward said: "This was a brazen theft that saw around £2,000 worth of fragrances stolen from a store in Kidderminster before those involved travelled on, and were linked to the theft of a delivery van in Shrewsbury later the same day.

"Thanks to the swift response of our Roads Policing Unit and local response officers, the stolen van was quickly located and three people were promptly arrested. Their rapid actions meant we were able to ensure those suspected of being involved in the two incident taken into custody."

Officers in Shrewsbury have seized 14 illegal e-scooters and one electric bike as they crackdown on anti-social activity in the town centre.

Following an increase in reports of e-scooters being ridden dangerously in the town, officers have been working with Town Rangers, Team Shrewsbury and youth workers to take them off the streets.

While e-scooters are available to buy, they are currently illegal to use on public roads, pavements, cycle lanes and pedestrian-only areas unless they are part of an approved Government rental scheme. There are currently no legal e-scooter rental schemes in Shropshire.

Shrewsbury's Safer Neighbourhood Team Inspector, Ingrid Tozer, said: “Following concerns from the community about e-scooters being ridden dangerously and causing anti-social behaviour in Shrewsbury town centre, we have been carrying out targeted patrols and working closely with our partners to address the issue.

“E-scooters ridden in public places without the appropriate insurance are illegal and can pose a risk to pedestrians and other road users if used irresponsibly.

“We have seized 14 e-scooters and an electric bike as part of this activity, and we will continue to take action where offences are identified. We would also encourage parents and carers to make sure they understand the law around e-scooter use and speak to young people about using them safely and responsibly.”

During half-term officers will be continuing with patrols in the town centre and anyone found riding a privately owned e-scooter in public places risks having it seized.
