🎃👻 **THE OAKENGATES SAFE TRICK OR TREAT TRAIL IS HERE!** 👻🎃

Calling all little witches, ghosts, monsters and everything in between… it's time for some Halloween fun! 🕷️🧙‍♀️

Our **FREE Safe Trick or Treat Trail** is back TODAY, and we've got a fantastic line-up of local businesses ready to welcome you!

🍬 **Saturday 31st October**
⏰ **12pm – 2pm**
📍 **Oakengates High Street**

We've had an incredible response from our wonderful local traders this year, with **27 businesses and locations taking part!** 🧡

🕸️ **HOW DOES IT WORK?**

👻 Take a look at our trail map and participating businesses list attached to this post.

🎃 Follow the trail around Oakengates High Street, keeping your eyes peeled for the little ghosts hiding in participating shop windows!

🍬 Pop into the participating businesses, say those three magic words… **TRICK OR TREAT!** and collect your Halloween goodies!

🧡 Most importantly, have fun, explore our wonderful High Street and show some love to the fantastic independent businesses that make Oakengates so special!

**A FEW LITTLE REMINDERS!** 🕷️

👻 All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult throughout the trail.

🍬 **Allergies & intolerances:** Please be aware that participating businesses may be unable to accommodate specific dietary requirements, allergies or intolerances during the trail. Parents and guardians are kindly asked to check all treats and packaging before allowing children to enjoy them. If you're unsure about any ingredients or allergens, please don't consume the treat.

🕸️ Some participating locations have slightly different times, so please check the traders list before setting off!

They've got some extra special (and slightly creepy!) guests joining them for this year's Oakengates Safe Trick or Treat Trail! 🦎🐍

We're teaming up with the wonderful Jelly Exotics, who will be taking over our upstairs space with some of their creepy crawly friends!

Whether you're feeling brave or would rather admire them from a safe distance, make sure you pop in and say hello as you make your way around the trail! 🕷️💜

🎃👻 The Oakengates Safe Trick or Treat Trail is BACK for 2026!!👻🎃

Get your costumes ready, little monsters! After another spooktacular success last year, our FREE Safe Trick or Treat Trail is returning to Oakengates this Halloween! 🍬🕸️

Join us for an afternoon of spooky surprises, sweet treats and Halloween fun as our wonderful local businesses come together to make Halloween extra special for our little trick-or-treaters!

🗓️ Date:Saturday 31st October 2026
⏰ Time:12pm – 2pm
📍 Location:Oakengates High Street

Here's how it works...👻

🎃 Dress up in your favourite Halloween costume (grown-ups, you're welcome to join in too!)

🍬 Follow the trail through Oakengates High Street, looking out for the special Halloween images displayed in participating shop windows.

🕷️ Pop into participating businesses to collect your tricks and treats along the way!

🧙‍♀️ Enjoy a fun, family-friendly afternoon while supporting our fantastic local businesses!

✨ A few things to remember...

All children must be accompanied by an adult throughout the trail.

🗺️ The official trail map will be released on Love Oakengates one hour before the event begins, so keep your eyes peeled from 11am!

Best of all? It's completely FREE! 🧡

🎄 We Need Your Help! 🎄

Our Christmas Dinner is proving really popular this year and that’s absolutely fantastic! ❤️ The only challenge we’re facing is transport. Due to new regulations, we’re unfortunately not able to collect people who would truly benefit from joining us on Christmas Day.

We would love to find someone, a local group, or a business in our community who is DBS-checked and could volunteer to help pick up guests and take them home afterwards.

If you or someone you know could help or if you can simply share this post it would make a world of difference. 🌟

Let’s bring people together this Christmas. No one should miss out on community, company, and a warm Christmas dinner.
(And yes… we’d happily say thank you with a Christmas dinner too! 🎁🍽️)

🎄 Christmas Day Volunteer Update 🎄

We are overwhelmed by the amazing response to our call for Christmas Day volunteers! ❤️
Thanks to your generosity, we have now reached full capacity for volunteer support this Christmas. We just have a couple of transport offers to finalise, but all other roles are now filled.

A huge thank you to everyone who stepped forward so quickly — your kindness makes a real difference. 🙏

Although our Christmas Day team is now complete, we are always looking for volunteers throughout the year. If you’d like to get involved with The Salvation Army Oakengates beyond the festive season, we’d love to hear from you.
