HAUNTINGS – POSTPONED UNTIL 2027

Further to our announcement yesterday, we can now confirm that HAUNTINGS has been postponed until next year.

We would have loved to reschedule the performance at the Barn in the coming weeks, but with the evenings drawing in and the weather becoming increasingly unpredictable, unfortunately this hasn’t been possible.

We’ll announce a new performance date as soon as possible. In the meantime, everyone who booked for Friday’s performance will receive a refund in due course.

Thank you for your understanding and patience. We’re sorry for any disappointment caused and look forward to welcoming you back to the Barn in 2027.

Thank you for your continued support of the Ellen Terry Barn Theatre.

TONIGHTS PERFORMANCE POSTPONED

Sadly tonight's performance of Hauntings has been postponed due to the severe weather warning currently in place.

This decision has been made following discussions with the National Trust, who have assessed the potential risks to visitors both at, and travelling to, the site. Several trees have been reported to have fallen on local roads overnight, and the safety of our audience, performers and staff must remain our priority.

We are confident that the performance can be rescheduled and will contact all ticket holders as soon as new arrangements have been confirmed. If you are unable to attend the rearranged date, we will of course provide a full refund.

We are naturally very disappointed to postpone the event, but we trust you will understand that this decision has been taken with everyone's safety in mind.

Warm regards,

Matt and Zo

HAUNTINGS – PERFORMANCE UPDATE

We can confirm that tomorrow evening’s performance of HAUNTINGS is still scheduled to go ahead as planned, despite the current weather forecast.

However, we will be reviewing the situation tomorrow morning in consultation with the National Trust before making a final decision.

The safety of our patrons, visitors, cast and crew remains our absolute priority, and we will keep everyone updated should anything change.

Please keep an eye on our social media for further updates.

Wonderful performance from Non and Francesca as they bought the characters of Ottoline and Fawcett alive and transported us back to 1917. Thank you to everyone who attended.

It was such an honour to be performing at The Ellen Terry Barn Theatre tonight.
We felt the weight of history of this beautiful venue -
not only for its connections to our illustrious predeccssor, Ellen Terry herself but also for the contribution made by her daughter Edith Craig to the campaign for women's suffrage.

Such a lovely venue with the warmest of audiences.

Thank you all so much.

LAST FEW TICKETS AVAILABLE!

Tomorrow night....

On a cold December day 1917, Lady Ottoline Morrell has crossed Bedford Square to the home of Millicent Fawcett to express her condolences for the loss of a beloved sister. As the patroness of the Bloomsbury Group, Ottoline’s vast circle of friends includes Prime Ministers and novelists, painters and philosophers Her world is tainted by the whiff of scandal, the whisper of notoriety. Millicent on the other hand has been unwavering in her dedication to the crusade for women’s suffrage. Each in their own way, Ottoline and Millicent have left an indelible legacy on our political and cultural landscape yet they have languished too long in the twilight of obscurity, overshadowed by others.

Full of drama and laughter, Across the Square is an imagined conversation between two sharply contrasting women.

Will they find common ground, shared values?

Two differing world views are about to collide over a glass of sherry.

LAST FEW TICKETS!

Tomorrow night (Saturday) at the Barn Theatre:

The award-winning Dyad Productions and Company Gavin Robertson are joining forces!

It’s a pedigree of the first degree! Between them, Dyad’s recent productions – Austen’s Women: LADY SUSAN, A Christmas Carol, A Room of One’s Own, That Knave, Raleigh – and Gavin Robertson, with Done to Death by Jove!, The Ghost of a Smile andBOND – An Unauthorised Parody have toured both the UK and internationally, with resounding success over the last few years. Labouring away in secret, looking for the perfect co-production has taken time, but finally the answer has arrived!

Every hospital, medical-based, Doctors-and-Nurses cliché-ridden drama onstage in a comedy mash-up spoof!

It’ll have you in stitches!

It’s Dr Ann Fleming’s first day at St David’s, where her unfortunately-named mentor Dr Death, is determined to show her who’s boss. As medical emergencies overload the hapless staff, Dr Fleming has to juggle a complicated budding love affair, with a liver, and a nosey Hospital boss. Not literally.

Yes – Holby City, Casualty, E.R. and Doctors – not to mention movies galore, are re-imagined and invigorated by Rebecca Vaughan, Andrew Margerison and Gavin Robertson in a pacy, cliché-ridden comic homage to the intrigues and dramas of every hospital plotline on the big and small screen!

To be taken once a day (or twice if there’s a matinee).

Created in collaboration with the Old Town Hall, Hemel Hempstead.
