With school half term in full swing and the countdown to 👻Halloween👻 almost over, star of our railway Halloween poster, the not so spooky Athelstan, is rostered to be on the main passenger service again today.

Trains are running from 10:45am to 4:00pm from Lakeside and Kingsmere stations, so we are hoping for another dry, sunny (and busy) day at the railway. 🚂

The Moors Valley Santa Special is running a relaxed experience for people with additional needs such as autism or other sensory issues. This will provide parents with the chance to bring their children for a calmer opportunity to meet Santa, away from the hustle and bustle of usual opening times.🚂🧑‍🎄

Enjoy a calm yet festive experience with all the traditional sights, sounds and aromas of Christmas!🎄

*There will be no hustle or bustle, flashing lights or loud music on these dates*

We are running these sessions on Saturday 5th December at 10:30am and on Sunday 13th December at 1:30pm. Tickets are still available for both sessions.

After yesterday’s rain we are pleased to say the sun is shining and we are open today.

We have Hartfield on the passenger service with driver Dave and trains are running from 10:45am to 4:00pm.

Ever wondered how our steam locomotives actually work? We all know if you boil water it makes steam but how does that steam make the wheels go round?

If you would like to find out more we are now stocking the excellent range of 'Peter's Railway' books in our shop at Kingsmere station. These books are aimed at younger readers and explain how a steam locomotive works with lots of pictures and diagrams, all set against the story of Peter and his railway.

If you want to find out more and get hands on with our steam engines look out for our Young Engineers special event coming in 2027.

It's almost Halloween which means Christmas is just around the corner.👻.......🧑‍🎄

What better festive treat than a steam train ride to see Santa in his Grotto here at Moors Valley Railway. Hurry though, as some sessions are already sold out. School Half Term is fast approaching and with Halloween just around the corner it's all board for our not so scary steam train ride. We are running trains every day between Saturday 24th October and Sunday 1st November 10:45am to 4:00pm. 🚂👻

Kingsmere and Lakeside stations are both fully open for hot and cold refreshments, spooky Halloween treat bags and other spooky goodies. ☕👻
