Our Loving Later Life Awards spotlight continues with James Rae, winner of the Neighbour Like No Other Award.

Living at Hanover Close in Andover, James is always ready to lend a hand to his neighbours. Whether helping with practical tasks, giving people lifts to appointments or getting involved in community projects such as building a garden bench, he makes a real difference.

James said: “It’s nice to be thought of, and I couldn’t have done it without everyone else in our lovely community!”

🎃 Happy Halloween!

There’s been plenty of fun across our care homes, with residents and colleagues getting creative with crafts, carving pumpkins, enjoying spooky snacks and getting together for Halloween themed parties.

💜 Join West Hall care home for a Remembrance Service on Thursday 5 November.

They will come together to honour the lives of lost loved ones, with singing from Feltonfleet School, a performance by harpist Danielle and a service led by Revd. Dr Keith Elford, Vicar of West Byfleet and New Haw.

Friends, family and members of the local community are warmly invited. Refreshments will be served after the service.

What happens when a passion for dance becomes part of your day job?

For Bob, a Care Assistant at Anchor - St Edith's Court, it means bringing music, movement and plenty of encouragement to regular Zest sessions with residents.

Bob has been delivering Zest at the care home since completing his training, and says it’s his favourite part of the job.

“It’s my favourite part of the job. We all feel good after it.”

Bloomfield Court is delighted to invite you to our Wear It Pink Day on Friday 23rd October 2026 at 2pm, as we come together to raise money and show our support for Breast Cancer. 🌸

We have an exciting afternoon planned, including:

🎀💗 WEAR IT PINK – BLOOMFIELD COURT FUNDRAISER! 💗🎀

We’re incredibly excited to announce that Bloomfield Court is fundraising for Breast Cancer as part of Wear It Pink on Friday 23rd October! 🌸

This cause is particularly close to our hearts, as one of our residents has recently been diagnosed with Stage 2 breast cancer and has asked us to help raise money and awareness. 💕

We have lots of exciting things planned throughout the day:

🎂 CAKE SALE – Delicious homemade treats for everyone to enjoy!
👚 STAFF IN PINK – Our amazing team will be wearing pink to show their support!
💗 PINK HAIR! – Three of our staff will be going pink for the occasion!
🎁 PINK HAMPERS – We are busy creating two fabulous pink hampers, which will be available in reception for you to purchase raffle tickets for.
🎉 FUN ACTIVITIES – We’ll have lots of fun activities taking place throughout the day!

🎀 PINK BOWS – £1 EACH 🎀
One of our talented residents has lovingly knitted beautiful pink bows for us to sell. If you would like to purchase one for just £1, please enquire at the Bloomfield Court office.

A donation box will also be available in our reception area for anyone who would like to make a contribution.

🎁 RAFFLE HAMPERS 🎁
Our pink hampers are currently being created and will soon be displayed in reception. Raffle tickets will be available to purchase, so keep your eyes peeled!

Every donation, raffle ticket, bow and cake purchase will help us raise as much as possible for this very special cause. 💕
