Akhil, a member of the Warwickshire Youth Council, has turned his passion for technology and sustainability into action with Windfall - an innovative app helping communities rescue unwanted fruit and reduce food waste.

What started with collecting 100kg of fallen apples has grown into a project that has already helped save more than 2,500kg of fruit, supporting food banks, community kitchens, animal feed projects and more.

Using an interactive map and AI technology, Windfall helps people identify fruit trees, locate surplus fruit and organise collections, showing how young people's ideas can make a real difference in their communities.

👏 Congratulations to Akhil for his inspiring achievement and for demonstrating the positive impact young people can have when they're supported to develop their ideas.

Technology can play an important role in helping people live safely, independently and confidently at home. From simple reminders and smart plugs to personal alarms, GPS devices and sensors, Technology Enabled Care is transforming how people access support.

We're inviting Warwickshire residents to share their views and experiences. Whether you use care and support services, care for someone else, have a family member who does, or simply live in Warwickshire, we'd like to hear from you.

Your feedback will help shape the future of Technology Enabled Care and adult social care support in Warwickshire.
