Amber Watch alerted at 19:21 along with colleagues from Wellington, Telford, Bridgnorth Fire Station and Tweedale Fire Station to reports of a house fire near New Works.
On arrival, flames could be seen issuing through the roof. An assistance message was sent requesting the water carrier, incident command unit and ALP attend due to difficult access and difficulty maintaining a constant water supply.
Crews worked hard and quickly brought the fire under control. Crews will remain on scene into the night.
Police also in attendance. 🚒🚓

Hazmat drill this evening for Amber Watch.
We took a trip up to Telford Central Fire Station and met up with Red Watch to carry out a simulated chemical leak scenario.
Gas-tight suits which are only used by wholetime staff were used to allow firefighters to safely enter the risk area and identify the chemical and rescue any casualties that were located in the immediate area.

Big congratulations to FF Morgan, FF Harding, FF Williams and FF Bexx. 👏

Varied training session this evening!

We started the evening by congratulating Crew Manager Tony Cooke for his massive 40 year service! Huge well done and thankyou on behalf of everyone at Wellington for your outstanding commitment. 🚒

We then took a trip to Horsehay to carry out pumping from open water training, aswell as Water First Responder training. This involved using the LPP to pump from open water, and get a main jet to work. We then had a look at the Rescue Sled, that is based at Telford. Crews familiarised themselves with the sled, before carrying out simulated rescues. Thankyou to White Watch Telford for coming down and training with us. 🤝
