Support Worker – Wokingham
Full-Time | Days and Nights from £12.85 per hour

Are you kind, reliable, and passionate about making a difference?

Hi, I'm Dan – a sociable and outgoing young man living independently in my own flat near Wokingham town centre. I have physical disabilities and enjoy being active in the community, pursuing hobbies and maintaining a varied social life. I’m looking for a team of Support Workers who can help me live the life I want to lead. I like to make a difference and don’t see why having a disability means I should not live the life I want to.

I require 24-hour care and I need people who can work during the day (8am-3pm / 3pm-10pm) and/or at night (9pm-9am), including alternate weekends.

What I’m looking for in my support workers:

Patient and a good listener
Respectful of my privacy and personal space
Able to anticipate my needs while encouraging my independence
Willing to learn about my specific needs and condition
Positive, kind, and committed
Likes travelling and sports and will be able to assist me to carry on with these activities.
Loves the use of technology as I use a lot to move and communicate.
Someone who helps me say “how can we?” not “we can’t”.

As a Support Worker, your role will be to support me in my day-to-day life with things like cooking, cleaning and shopping. I will need support with personal care (dressing, showering, personal tasks) and socialising, including appointments, events and outings.

Experience in the care sector would be beneficial but is not necessary as we provide full training. This includes classroom-based learning for practical skills, online sessions for theory and awareness, and shadowing experienced staff to learn how we do things.

You will be required to work every other weekend which will include a sleep in shift.

Looking for a flexible fun member of staff to join our team.

Support Workers Needed!
If you're passionate about making a difference in people's lives and hold a valid UK driving licence, we've got a job for you! 🫵

Thank you to everyone who shared and tagged for our recent HCA Recruitment Event; it was a huge success!

We're recruiting kind, caring and proactive people to join our teams in supporting people with learning disabilities across the Wokingham and Windsor & Maidenhead boroughs. We have a number of different vacancies, including roles based in one location and out in the community, and you may be asked to drive one of our vehicles to help people we support get out and about 🚗

The Role
As a Support Worker, you will be helping adults with learning disabilities and autism to remain as independent as possible. That could mean accompanying them on trips to the shops and appointments, helping with meal prep and cooking, and ensuring people remain in good health. Every person we support is unique; they have their own individual needs and ways they like to do things, so being patient and understanding is crucial.

As we expand our teams to provide more support, we are looking for people to join the following services:

📍 Brambletye in Finchampstead
📍 Rushall Place in Winnersh
📍 Loddon Short Breaks Service in Earley
📍 Winston Court in Pinkneys Green, Maidenhead
📍 Tithe Barn in South Bray, Maidenhead

Positions are also available in other services across Maidenhead, Wokingham, Winnersh and Woodley.

Let's be clear - these are care roles, but our goal is to put smiles on faces and help people to achieve their goals. Responsibilities will vary depending on people's individual needs and abilities, but you will most likely be helping people to wash and maintain good hygiene, as well as administering medication and helping with mobility.

It can be hard work at times, but a career in care is unlike any other job ✨

Experience in care would be beneficial, but is not needed as we provide full training and support as you begin your journey with us. This includes classroom-based training with our Learning and Development team, eLearning and shadowing our existing team. All training is paid and is done at your pace to ensure you are comfortable and confident.

We have a number of roles available, including for people who do not hold a driving licence - but these locations are our priority currently.

We offer great benefits when you join and our hourly rates are competitive - £12.85ph Mon-Fri and £14.38 Sat-Sun
