🌍💜World Polio Day – 24 October 💜🌍

This weekend, we stand together to raise awareness of polio and recognise the incredible efforts being made around the world to eradicate this preventable disease. You will see the festoon lighting turn to purple to make this special day.

Thanks to vaccination, we are closer than ever to a polio-free world, but the fight is not over. Every child deserves the chance to grow up healthy and free from the threat of polio.

Let’s continue to spread awareness, support vaccination programmes and work together towards a future where no child has to suffer from this disease. 💉🌎

🌼 A splash of colour for the future!

Last week, a team of our Youth Councillors, alongside fellow councillors, planted wildflower seeds at the Community Orchard in Holloway.

We’re looking forward to seeing the first splashes of colour next year, before repeating the exercise to create an even bolder display the year after! 🌸

Wildflowers are fantastic for biodiversity, creating natural habitats and corridors for wildlife and helping our local nature thrive. 🐝🦋

A little effort today for a more colourful, wildlife-friendly tomorrow! 💚

🍎 🍏 🍎 On Sunday 25th October from 11am to 3pm, Vale Landscape Heritage Trust will be holding an Apple Day at Stocken Orchard, next to Tiddesley Wood. A lovely opportunity for people to get into the orchard, enjoy stalls and games and see beekeeping and apple pressing. And it’s free! 🍎 🍏 🍎Fun for all the family!🍎 🍏 🍎

🩷🩵🩷🩵 Baby Loss Awareness Week 🩷🩵🩷🩵

You may have noticed the blue and pink festoon lighting shining across Pershore High Street since Friday. These lights are in place to mark Baby Loss Awareness Week, a time to remember all the babies who have died too soon and to show support for the families who carry their loss with them.

Baby loss affects more families than many people realise. Behind every statistic is a baby who is loved, missed and never forgotten, and a family whose lives have been changed forever.

The lights are a small but meaningful way for our community to come together, raise awareness and let anyone who has experienced the loss of a baby know that they are not alone.

If you wish to - there is an opportunity to dedicate a heart to the memorial tree in the Town Hall foyer. We are open 10am-4pm Mon-Thurs and 10am-3pm Fridays.

Everyone loves our Christmas events and we're back planning and working hard to make the Christmas Lights switch on, and Georgian Market, the best ever. But we can't do it without you. It all relies on amazing volunteers to make it happen so this is a call out for all you community minded folk out there!

All volunteers will be in the thick of the action so come and join us to help make this year's celebrations fantastic!!

Not strictly St Andrew’s Gardens (Town Hall Walkway) but a tribute to the hard work of the volunteers and Pershore College who do so much to keep the area so lovely; particularly in the hot spells we have had of late. Thank you.
