ENGAGEMENT AND PROJECT INSPECTION OF THE PUBLIC INTEREST AND ACCOUNTABILITY COMMITTEE (PIAC)

PIAC was established under Section 51 of the Petroleum Revenue Management Act, 2011 (Act 815), to promote transparency and accountability in the management and use of Ghana’s petroleum revenues.

The meeting provided a platform for stakeholders and members of the public to engage in discussions on petroleum revenue management, monitor compliance with the relevant legal framework, deliberate on spending priorities in line with national development needs, and promote independent assessment of the use of petroleum revenues.

The engagement reaffirmed the importance of public participation, transparency and accountability in ensuring that Ghana’s petroleum resources contribute meaningfully to national development.
