Otters are among the most fascinating freshwater mammals, playing an important role in maintaining healthy aquatic ecosystems. India is home to three remarkable otter species — the Smooth-coated Otter, Asian Small-clawed Otter and Eurasian Otter — each adapted to wetlands, rivers, marshes and forest streams.

As indicators of clean and fish-rich water bodies, the presence of otters reflects the health of freshwater habitats and biodiversity. Protecting wetlands and river ecosystems is essential for the survival of these playful yet ecologically important species.

A wildlife safari becomes more meaningful when experienced with patience, awareness and respect for nature. Simple practices like maintaining silence, observing responsibly, avoiding disturbance and appreciating the smaller details of the forest can greatly enhance the overall experience.

Every safari is more than just wildlife sightings — it is an opportunity to understand ecosystems, natural behaviour and the importance of conservation in protected landscapes.

Respect the forest and the forest reveals its stories.

Turtles are among the most ancient reptiles on Earth, adapted for both land and aquatic life through remarkable survival traits developed over millions of years.

From powerful swimming abilities to strong protective shells, these reptiles play an important role in maintaining healthy aquatic and wetland ecosystems. Many species also show incredible site fidelity, returning to familiar nesting grounds across generations.

Protecting turtles means protecting the habitats they depend upon for survival.

Biodiversity is the foundation of healthy ecosystems, connecting species, habitats and natural processes that support life across the planet. From forests and rivers to grasslands and urban spaces, every living organism contributes to maintaining ecological balance in its own way.

Rich biodiversity strengthens ecosystems, supports natural resources and helps environments remain resilient to changing conditions. Conserving biodiversity also means protecting the systems that sustain clean air, water, food resources and countless forms of life.

Protecting nature begins with protecting the diversity that keeps ecosystems thriving.
