सतर्कता जागरूकता सप्ताह 2026/ Vigilance Awareness Week 2026

सतर्कता जागरूकता सप्ताह 2026 के अंतर्गत, सीएसआईआर–सीजीसीआरआई,कोलकाता में दिनांक 29 अक्टूबर 2026 को कोलकाता पुलिस की टीम द्वारा “आईटी एवं साइबर सुरक्षा तथा साइबर स्वच्छता” विषय पर एक जागरूकता कार्यक्रम आयोजित किया गया।

कार्यक्रम में डिजिटल धोखाधड़ी, साइबर अपराधों से बचाव, ऑनलाइन सुरक्षा तथा दैनिक आधिकारिक एवं व्यक्तिगत कार्यों में साइबर स्वच्छता अपनाने के महत्व पर प्रकाश डाला गया। इस पहल का उद्देश्य कार्मिकों को साइबर खतरों के प्रति जागरूक करना तथा सुरक्षित डिजिटल व्यवहार को प्रोत्साहित करना था। संस्थान के खुर्जा एवं नरोडा केंद्रों के कार्मिकों ने भी जागरूकता कार्यक्रम में ऑनलाइन माध्यम से भाग लिया।

As part of Vigilance Awareness Week 2026, an awareness programme on “IT and Cyber Security and Cyber Hygiene” was organised at CSIR–Central Glass and Ceramic Research Institute, Kolkata, on 29 October 2026, by the Kolkata Police team.

The programme highlighted digital fraud prevention, cybercrime awareness, online safety and the importance of maintaining cyber hygiene in day-to-day official and personal activities. The initiative aimed to enhance cyber awareness among staff members and promote safe and responsible digital practices.

The employees of Khurja and Naroda Centres of CSIR-CGCRI also participated in awareness programme through online mode.

सीएसआईआर–सीजीसीआरआई,कोलकाता में दिनांक 26 अक्टूबर से 01 नवंबर 2026 तक सतर्कता जागरूकता सप्ताह मनाया जा रहा है। दिनांक 26 अक्टूबर 2026 को प्रातः 11:00 बजे संस्थान के निदेशक महोदय ने सभी कार्मिकों को सत्यनिष्ठा की शपथ दिलाई। इस वर्ष की थीम “सत्यनिष्ठा से समृद्धि” है। इस अभियान के अंतर्गत भ्रष्टाचार के प्रति जागरूकता, पारदर्शिता, जवाबदेही एवं नैतिक मूल्यों को बढ़ावा देने हेतु विभिन्न कार्यक्रम आयोजित किए जा रहे हैं। संस्थान के खुर्जा एवं नरोडा केंद्रों ने भी विभिन्न जागरूकता कार्यक्रमों में ऑनलाइन माध्यम से भाग लिया।

Membrane & Separation Technology Division (MSTD), CSIR-CGCRI, Kolkata has organized a skill development training programme on “Ceramic Membrane Technology & Water Analysis using Advanced Instrumental Techniques” at the Institute during October 12 - 16, 2026 as a part of the CSIR Integrated Skill Initiative Programme. Various important characterization techniques for materials and quality parameters of drinking water and wastewater have been demonstrated. Ceramic membrane preparation, uses of the membrane technology for water treatment and plant operation has also been demonstrated. 11 Science studying students from Dept. of Chemistry, Dinabandhu Andrews College, Kolkata have successfully completed the five-day training programme. They found it very much informative as well as of practical importance and appreciated this training module.
Glimpses of different sessions of the five-day training programme such as inaugural session of the event, different training modules on Ion Chromatography (IC), Gas Chromatography (GC), High Pressure Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), TKN analyser, BOD, COD, As, Fe measurement of water samples, basic exposure on ceramic membrane preparation and plant operation in laboratory and MCQ test & interactive session with scientists and trainers are given below:

The 70th Research Council Meeting of CSIR-CGCRI was held on October 13–14, 2026, under the chairmanship of Prof. Vikram Jayaram, Honorary Professor, Department of Materials Engineering, IISc, Bengaluru, marking the first meeting of the newly constituted Research Council. Eminent members, including Dr. Jeetendra Sehgal, Mr. M. M. Murugappan, Dr. (Smt.) Vaishali Naik, and Dr. P. C. Panchariya attended the meeting.

A new study published in Chemistry of Materials (ACS, USA, DOI: 10.1021/acs.chemmater.5c03538) by Dr. Srabanti Ghosh and her team of CSIR-Central Glass and Ceramic Research Institute, demonstrates an efficient and durable bifunctional electrocatalyst for hydrogen and oxygen evolution using PV-assisted water electrolysis under direct sunlight for sustainable green hydrogen production.

In this work, the team developed PANI-functionalized MgFe2O4 (MFO) nanocomposites as efficient and durable bifunctional electrocatalysts for both the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) and oxygen evolution reaction (OER). The optimized catalyst exhibited enhanced electrocatalytic performance, with stable operation for over 20 h and a hydrogen production rate of 45.5 mmol g‒1 h‒1.

☀️ A key highlight of this work is the successful demonstration of photovoltaic-assisted alkaline water electrolysis under direct sunlight in outdoor experiments at CSIR–Central Glass & Ceramic Research Institute (CSIR-CGCRI), Kolkata, highlighting its potential for sustainable green hydrogen production.

🎉 Congratulations to Dr. Srabanti Ghosh (CSIR-CGCRI) and her team on this exciting contribution to green hydrogen research! This work advances the development of efficient bifunctional electrocatalysts and demonstrates their practical potential through PV-assisted water electrolysis under direct sunlight.
