Conserve Water, Conserve Future

Firayalal Public School, Ranchi, is conducting a series of activities to support the initiative of water conservation for a sustainable future under Jal Pakhwara 2026 campaign at its school campus.

Today, the school organized an engaging debate on the theme "Water Conservation." The topic of debate was, “Is water a human right or a commodity?".

This encouraged thoughtful discussion among participants. students presented arguments for and against the motion. They concluded that water should primarily be recognized as a basic human right while also emphasizing responsible management to prevent its misuse.

The activity highlighted the importance of balancing accessibility with sustainability. Students expressed that ensuring equitable access to water while promoting conservation practices is essential for securing the needs of future generations. The event fostered awareness, critical thinking, and a deeper understanding of environmental responsibility.

Haneet Munjal, Vice Principal, appreciated CBSE’s initiative and praised the students’ participation. She emphasized that conserving water today is vital for a sustainable tomorrow and urged everyone to adopt mindful practices to protect this precious resource for future generations.

Our school organized an Earth Day Poster Making Competition for Classes III to V during the 2nd and 3rd periods. Centered on the theme “Earth Day,” the event aimed to promote environmental awareness and inspire eco-friendly habits. Students participated with great enthusiasm, expressing creative ideas through posters made with colours, craft materials, and recycled resources.

The winners were:
1st – Shreya Nishad (Maitri House)
2nd – Purvi Rani (Shanti House)
3rd – Shreya Kumari (Anand House) and Mehak Parween (Gyan House)

The students of Classes VIII, IX, and X participated with great zeal and enthusiasm. Through their presentations, they effectively propagated the importance of conserving water, highlighting practical ways to save this precious resource and encouraging its judicious use in daily life.

Water conservation is essential for sustaining life and protecting our environment. We can conserve water by adopting simple yet effective practices. Rainwater harvesting should be encouraged to store and reuse water. Fixing leaking taps and pipes can prevent wastage. Using buckets instead of showers and turning off taps while brushing are small but impactful habits. Reusing water for gardening and cleaning purposes also helps. Planting trees increases groundwater levels and supports the water cycle.

By working together and making mindful choices, we can preserve this precious resource for future generations. Let us pledge to value every drop and act responsibly.
