On 22.10.2026 (Thursday) at the request of the Principal of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV), Thosai, Siaha, Pu Vanlal Peka, SDPO Siaha conducted an awareness programme on Social Media Safety and Cybercrime Awareness for the students. Approximately 50 students attended the programme.

*Siaha Police Busted 3 illegal local Liquor Manufacturing Units* :

Today i.e.dt 21.10.2026, acting on specific information received, Siaha Police detected three unclaimed illegal local liquor manufacturing units at the outskirts of Siaha town in the jungle located about 7kms from the town. All the liquors found there was destroyed on the spot.

The details are as follows:
1. Factory No. 1: Approximately 800 litres of unfermented liquor in 5 containrs.
2. Factory No. 2: Approximately 300 litres of unfermented liquor in 2 containers and 40 litres of fermented liquor.
3. Factory No. 3: Approximately 360 litres of unfermented liquor in 2 containers.

The total estimated market value of the liquor destroyed was approximately ₹4,50,000/-. In addition, 7 big vessels, 6 small vessels & other smaller equipments used for manufacturing liquor were also seized from the sites.

A One-Day Sensitization Programme on Child Protection for Police Personnel was jointly organised by Siaha DEF and the District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), Siaha, at the Conference Hall of Siaha PS.

The programme covered various aspects of child protection, including the roles and responsibilities of the SJPU and Child Welfare Police Officers under the Juvenile Justice, Procedures for handling cases involving Children in Need of Care and Protection (CNCP) and Children in Conflict with Law (CCL), the POCSO Act, and child-friendly procedures for dealing with children. A total of 42 participants attended the programme.

Siaha District Police Sports was held today at RM Futsal Ground, Siaha. The event was inaugurated by Pi Diksha, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Siaha District.

The participating teams were divided into four groups and competed in various matches. An exhibition match was also played during the closing ceremony, adding to the excitement and spirit of the event.

The programme aimed to promote physical fitness, maintaining discipline and encouraging a healthy and active lifestyle among police personnel.

*13th Mizoram State Anti-To***co Day observed in Siaha*:

Today, the 13th Mizoram State Anti-To***co Day was observed in Siaha district at Don Bosco School, Siaha from 10:30 AM onwards where Pu Beimosia Lapi, Addl.SP Siaha graced the occasion as Chief Guest. About 400 students & teachers attended the function. Key message for the students includes the ill effects of To***co & to***co products, as well as relevant provisions of the COTPA, 2003. All the students also took pledge to abstain from to***co consumption.

On the occasion of Teacher’s Day, 2026, Siaha District Police in coordination with District Education Office (DEO) Siaha conducted awareness programmes on Cyber Crime and Traffic Rules at the following schools:

1. ECM Higher Secondary School
2. ⁠Don Bosco School, Siaha
3. ⁠Blue Bell School, Meisatla
4. ⁠Foxall Higher Secondary School, Siaha
5. ⁠Govt. Higher Secondary School

A total of approximately 1,013 students & teachers attended the awareness programmes.

On 02.09.2026, Siaha Police Station successfully handed over 9 lost mobile phones to their rightful owners, recovered through the CEIR (Central Equipment Identity Register) portal.

A total of 101 lost mobile phones reported to Siaha PS have been recovered this year.

A Drug Awareness Campaign was held on 31.08.26 @ 10:00 AM at F.Kaphranga Memorial English School, kawlchaw East which were
attended by 61 students and 7 teachers.
Three staff from Kawlchaw Police Outpost attended during this campaign and ASI Lalsangbera i/c delivered presentation and Added awareness topic of MV Act.

*Operation against local liquor factory carried out in Siaha town area:*

Today, operation against local liquor factory was carried out at the outskirts of Siaha town by Siaha PS staff, and the following 3 unclaimed factories with approximate quantities of 400 litres are found and destroyed on the spot.

1. Factory 1 - 200 litres.

2. Factory 2 - 40 litres.

3. Factory 3 -160 litres

Total market value - Rs. 1,20,000/-.

Siaha DEF is fully committed to its ongoing fight against drugs and liquor in the district.
