Thelma Lind Árnadóttir hefur vakið verðskuldaða athygli í fyrstu torfærukeppnum sumarsins á glæsilega bílnum Túttunni. Thelma er aðens 17 ára og því yngsta konan á Íslandi að keppa í torfæru. Hún byggði bílinn ásamt pabba sínum Árna Pálssyni.
Baldur og Stefán frá Hellunum heimsóttu Thelmu, Árna og Önnu Láru í vikunni, skelltu lógó á bílinn og smelltu af nokkrum myndum. Hlökkum til að fylgjast með Thelmu á Túttunni í sumar!

We support a talented young woman from our local community who is the youngest female Formula Off Road competitor in Iceland. She is only 17 years old and built her off-road racing vehicle herself together with her father. It will be exciting to follow her progress as she competes this summer.

Throughout the caves, guests can discover old carvings, symbols and markings left behind by those who once entered these ancient man-made caves. Each carving offers a small glimpse into the mysterious history hidden beneath the surface of Iceland.

A truly special moment at the Caves of Hella!

The seal of the first barrel of limited edition Flóki whisky was finally broken after five years of aging in the unique environment of the Caves of Hella. The experts at Eimverk were very pleased with the taste and character of the whisky, and guests commented on how exceptionally smooth and enjoyable it was.

Thousands of guests have observed the barrels during their maturation period, learning that the whisky is made from Icelandic barley grown in the fields surrounding the caves and named after Hrafna-Flóki, the Viking explorer who gave Iceland its name.

Bottles of this unique whisky will soon be available from Eimverk, and the barrels will then be refilled, as it is now clear that the conditions inside the caves are ideal for whisky maturation.

Crafted in Iceland, matured in the caves, truly one of a kind! ✨

It was a particular pleasure to welcome the President of Iceland, Halla Tómasdóttir, accompanied by her spouse Björn Skúlason, to the Caves of Hella.

The presidential couple received a guided tour of the caves, signed Iceland’s most unique guestbook, and enjoyed refreshments while chatting with the staff.

The couple showed great interest in the mysteries surrounding the history of the caves and how they have been used throughout the centuries. As they are both very familiar with business operations, it was also especially rewarding to discuss the unique nature of Icelandic history and tourism in Iceland.

We are grateful for their visit, which reminds us of the importance of preserving and sharing this hidden gem of Iceland 🇮🇸
