TradeMalta was pleased to participate in the recent Cyprus–Malta Business Forum organised by the Malta Chamber of Commerce, with Klaus Pedersen, Senior Manager at TradeMalta, representing the organisation.

Our participation was an opportunity to connect directly with Malta-based businesses already exploring the Cypriot market, as well as companies looking at internationalisation opportunities.

With a strong representation from the services sector, the Forum provided valuable insight into the opportunities and challenges faced by service-based businesses as they expand into international markets.

Most importantly, it was an opportunity to have meaningful conversations with both Maltese and Cypriot companies — understanding where businesses are today, the challenges they are navigating and how TradeMalta can support them in maximising their internationalisation potential.

Staying close to businesses and understanding their needs is an important part of our role as we continue to empowering local businesses to expand internationally.

Malta’s export landscape is evolving fast, and this interview in businessnewsmalta.com captures that momentum through the lens of our CEO, Tania Brown.

She reflects on her first UK business mission, a clear signal that Malta’s exporters are ready to scale, and that international partnerships will be central to that growth.

From AI and digital services to life sciences, advanced manufacturing and tourism, Maltese companies found strong commercial synergies across Liverpool, Wrexham, and Cardiff.

For Malta’s SMEs, the takeaway is simple: with the right preparation and targeted support, exporting becomes a powerful driver of long‑term, sustainable growth. TradeMalta is well placed to empower businesses as they navigate an increasingly competitive global marketplace.

Do trade missions still matter in a digital world?

A recently published article on BusinessNow.mt explores this question through the experiences of Gozo Business Chamber, Aerotes Ltd and Threls Ltd who participated in TradeMalta's recent business mission to Liverpool, Wrexham and Cardiff.

As TradeMalta CEO Tania Brown notes: "The UK continues to be a key strategic partner for Malta. Beyond our historical relationship, our countries share a common language, business culture, legal traditions, and commercial outlook. These similarities help reduce barriers to engagement and create a strong platform for trade, investment and innovation."
