Adequate learning Facilities||
The Directorate of Education, Innovation, Youth, Sports, Arts and Culture proudly celebrates the inauguration of newly constructed classrooms and an ablution block, advancing quality education through improved infrastructure and modern learning environments.
This development was made possible through a generous N$1.1 million grant from the Embassy of Japan, demonstrating the power of strong partnerships in supporting educational development and creating better opportunities for our learners.
In attendance was the Japanese Ambassador, Asazuma Shinichi, Deputy Minister of Education, Dino Ballotti, Governor of Hardap Region, Riaan Mcnab and Regional Councillor of Regional Rural Constituency, Gustav Garoeb.

Arrival of the Vice President||
Vice President Lucia Witbooi arrived in Gibeon to deliver the keynote address at the Debmarine Electrical Infrastructure Official Handover Programme.
The project is set to make a meaningful difference in the lives of residents through the electrification of 15 households and the installation of street lights in the Sunrise informal settlement.

Agricultural partnerships ||
Hardap Region today received a significant boost in strengthening climate-resilient agriculture as the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Land Reform and with funding from the Government of Japan, officially handed over project activities under the initiative “Enhancing Resilience of Farming Communities Affected by Drought through the Promotion of Adaptive Agriculture.”
The project will support youth and women-led farming households through agro-inputs, livestock, solar-powered irrigation systems, hydroponics, shade-net structures, training programmes, and the development of a Regional Drought Action Plan.
The handover was attended by Japanese Ambassador H.E. Shinichi Asazuma, and Hardap Governor, Riaan Charles McNab and the Chairperson of the Hardap Regional Council, Simon Kooper.
The project will be implemented in 5 regions and valued at approximately USD 3million amounting to N$49,529,175.00.

Service delivery ||
Residents of Aranos and surrounding communities will no longer have to travel long distances to access vehicle clearance services following the official launch of the Vehicle Clearing and Conduct Office at the Aranos Police Station this morning.
The new facility will reduce travel costs and waiting times for residents while improving access to essential vehicle clearance services. The initiative forms part of Government’s commitment to decentralised service delivery, ensuring that citizens can access quality services within their own communities.
The office was officially inaugurated by the Governor of the Hardap Region, Riaan Mcnab.

The Government Information Centre (GIC), housed at the Hardap Regional Council, continues to serve as a hub for public information dissemination, stakeholder engagement, and awareness creation.
Through community outreach programmes, social media platforms, community radio, and the use of local languages where necessary, the region is strengthening inclusivity, promoting public awareness, and encouraging citizen participation in development initiatives.
