SILAG Highlands Regional Training Center

Diploma of Government Leadership and Management course (DoGLM) is delivered at Highlands Regional Training Center and two provinces Simbu and Eastern Highlands have seen the importance of the course and support SILAG vision to have training delivered at their door step through block delivery mode. More then 60 senior public servants are currently attending training at their province.CEO Michael Barobe visited the two province and met with the participants. Best wishes through their studies.

New leaders for PNG: SILAG graduates challenged to serve Last week, the Somare Institute of Leadership and Governance (SILAG) in Mount Hagen, Western Highlands Province, celebrated the graduation of 27 students from its Highlands Regional Training Center. All graduates received their Diplomas and Certificates in Public Administration.

The graduating list is now available at the Mt. Hagen Student Administration office.

Please be reminded that all outstanding fees, including gown fees, must be fully paid by Thursday, 15th May 2025, before 4:00 PM.

Attendance at the compulsory graduation rehearsal is scheduled for Thursday, 15th May 2025, at 9:00 AM. Please be punctual.

This milestone celebrates the hard work and achievements of our graduates and reinforces SILAG’s commitment to delivering quality public service training across Papua New Guinea.

The Highlands Regional Training Centre in Mt. Hagen serves as a key learning hub for the seven provinces of the Highlands Region-Eastern Highlands, Simbu, Jiwaka, Western Highlands, Enga, Southern Highlands, and Hela-ensuring accessible and relevant training for public servants across the area.

2025 PUBLIC SERVICE TRAINING PROGRAMS
Somare Institute of Leadership and Governance (SILAG) wishes to inform the general public that course programs for 2025 at all SILAG campuses are now open. We are now inviting interested applicants to quickly secure spaces for 2025 academic year. SILAG is a government sanctioned training provider, dedicated to the development and training of the PNG public service in good governance, leadership and management; and other skill-enhancing short courses. SILAG specializes in designing, developing and delivering tailor-made courses (short-courses, Certi­ficate courses, diploma courses and degree pathway programs), to serving public servants, employees of NGO Partners, development partners, and where need arises, public servants from neighboring Pacifi­c Island Countries.
As part of its ongoing reforms, SILAG’s Main Campus will offer Diploma and Bachelor Generic Courses only. All Short Courses and Certifi­cate Courses will be offered through SILAG’s Regional Training Centers in Port Moresby, Kokopo, Mt. Hagen and Madang.
