WEEKLY HIGHLIGHTS | MAY 25-29

This week, DILG Abuyog, led by MLGOO Ivan Cornelius V. Co, drove key local governance, infrastructure, and safety initiatives across the municipality. The office spearheaded critical field inspections with the Local Project Monitoring Committee (LPMC) in Barangay Anibongon while participating in a Region VIII capacity-building webinar to enhance project oversight. To bolster grassroots administration and social accountability, DILG Abuyog conducted targeted technical consultations from Barangays Guintagbucan, Pagsang-an, Katipunan, and San Roque. Finally, the week concluded with strategic inter-agency collaborations, partnering with the MPDO to roll out the new Abuyog Integrated Management System, working alongside the MDRRMO for Gawad Kalasag finalization, engaging Civil Society Organizations, and interfacing with PDEA to accelerate the Barangay Drug Clearing Program.

𝗟𝗚𝗨 𝗔𝗯𝘂𝘆𝗼𝗴 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗿𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝟮𝗻𝗱 𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗟𝗣𝗠𝗖 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆

05.26.2026. Championing transparency and institutional accountability, the Local Project Monitoring Committee (LPMC) of Abuyog successfully conducted its 2nd Quarter 2026 Monitoring Activity earlier today, May 26, 2026, to validate the implementation status of key infrastructure projects.

The activity commenced with a preliminary briefing at the DILG Abuyog Office before the LPMC Inspectorate Team—composed of representatives from the MLGOO, MPDO-MEO, and the Private Sector—proceeded with a structured on-site inspection in Barangay Anibongon, Leyte. The monitoring focused on two priority infrastructure projects funded under the 20% Economic Development Fund (EDF): the Construction of a Concrete Pathway and the Installation of Solar Street Lights.

The evaluation yielded highly successful findings, confirming that both priority developments have registered 100% physical accomplishment for their current phases. The Concrete Pathway Project spans 222 linear meters with a contract amount of ₱1,000,000.00, while the Solar Street Lights Project successfully operationalized 37 units, also valued at ₱1,000,000.00.

To conclude the activity, an exit conference was held with Sangguniang Bayan Member and LPMC Chairperson Hon. Felicito V. Topia Jr. to discuss the implementation updates and map out continuing measures for public service delivery. Stakeholders emphasized that sustained monitoring and tight inter-agency coordination remain vital to reinforcing accountability and accelerating sustainable community development across the municipality.

It has been another highly productive and collaborative week for DILG Abuyog as we continue to champion excellent local governance, youth empowerment, and inter-agency synergy. Under the leadership of MLGOO Ivan Cornelius V. Co, our office successfully spearheaded key municipal meetings, extended technical guidance to various departments, and engaged with national agencies to better serve the community.

𝗗𝗜𝗟𝗚 𝗔𝗯𝘂𝘆𝗼𝗴 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝘀 𝗕𝗣𝗟𝗢 𝗶𝗻 𝗨𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗻’𝘀 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗘𝗢𝗗𝗕 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲

05.14.2026. To further promote a "business-friendly" environment, MLGOO Ivan Cornelius V. Co provided targeted technical assistance to the Business Permits and Licensing Office (BPLO) and various Department Heads yesterday at the DILG Abuyog Office.

The session focused on updating the municipal Citizen’s Charter to ensure all service standards are fully aligned with the latest mandates of the Ease of Doing Business (EODB) Act. Beyond the charter, the consultation covered the streamlining of internal workflows and the comprehensive requirements for EODB document submissions. By refining these protocols and reducing processing times, DILG Abuyog and the BPLO are working together to enhance local economic competitiveness and ensure more transparent and efficient public service for all stakeholders.
