SUSPECT IN PARAÑAQUE FATAL STABBING FALLS IN HOT PURSUIT

The Philippine National Police (PNP), under the leadership of PNP Chief PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., arrested a 41-year-old man in connection with a fatal stabbing incident in Barangay San Isidro, Parañaque City, following a hot pursuit operation by the Southern Police District (SPD) on November 2, 2026.

The incident occurred on November 1, 2026, claiming the life of a 30-year-old male housekeeping staff member who resided in the same barangay. Immediately after the incident, personnel of the San Dionisio Police Sub-Station launched an investigation and follow-up operations to establish the circumstances surrounding the attack and identify the person responsible.

Witnesses positively identified the suspect, whose identity is being withheld, as the alleged perpetrator. Their accounts were further corroborated by CCTV footage obtained from a nearby establishment. Initial investigation indicated that the victim was allegedly attacked without warning, leaving him with no reasonable opportunity to defend himself.

The suspect was apprehended in Barangay San Isidro with the assistance of three barangay tanods. Investigators are considering treachery as a qualifying circumstance, which may warrant the filing of a Murder complaint, subject to the evaluation of the appropriate authorities. The suspect remains under police custody pending further investigation and the filing of the appropriate criminal complaint.

PGEN Nartatez stressed that the PNP remains firm in pursuing perpetrators of violent crimes and ensuring that those responsible are held accountable. “No act of violence should go unanswered. We will ensure that every available piece of evidence is properly examined and that appropriate charges are pursued against those responsible,” he said.

He likewise underscored the value of public cooperation in helping authorities solve criminal cases. “Mahalaga ang bawat impormasyong naibabahagi ng publiko. Sa pagtutulungan, mas napapalakas natin ang kakayahan ng pulisya na mapanatili ang kaligtasan ng ating mga komunidad,” PGEN Nartatez added.

The PNP Focused Agenda, a strategic framework for institutional transformation aimed at making police service more responsive and accountable, reinforces Enhanced Managing Police Operations as a key priority in strengthening investigative efforts and ensuring decisive action against criminality.

As the PNP intensifies its efforts to investigate violent crimes, pursue suspects, and uphold the rule of law under the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., it assures the public of “Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat, at Nararamdaman.”

PNP RESCUES 16-YEAR-OLD GIRL IN LEYTE FOLLOWING UNIFIED 911 CALL

The Philippine National Police (PNP), under the leadership of PNP Chief PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., rescued a 16-year-old girl who was allegedly prevented from returning home in Palo, Leyte, on November 1, 2026, following an emergency call through the Unified 911 System, a vital public safety service under the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), headed by Secretary Juanito Victor C. Remulla Jr.

Personnel of the Palo Municipal Police Station (MPS) promptly responded to the emergency and provided protective assistance to the minor. Initial investigation disclosed that the girl had traveled from Agusan del Sur to Leyte on October 30, 2026, with two female companions in search of employment. However, when she expressed her desire to return home, her companions allegedly prevented her from leaving, citing an outstanding debt.

The responding police officers immediately sought the assistance of the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) of Palo for appropriate intervention. The MSWDO also contacted the minor’s father through a video call to inform him of his daughter’s situation and facilitate the necessary family and social welfare assistance.

PNP Chief PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. emphasized the importance of immediate police intervention in protecting children and other vulnerable individuals from potentially unsafe situations.

“Every call for help matters, especially when a child’s safety is at risk. Our police officers must remain alert and responsive to ensure that vulnerable individuals receive the protection they need,” PGEN Nartatez said.

He also underscored the PNP’s responsibility to ensure that children in distress receive immediate protection and assistance.

“Ang sinumang batang nangangailangan ng tulong ay dapat agad na mabigyan ng proteksyon. Makaaasa ang publiko na kikilos ang PNP sa bawat pagkakataong nanganganib ang kanilang kaligtasan,” he added.

The PNP Focused Agenda, a strategic direction for institutional transformation aimed at making police service more responsive and accountable, emphasizes key priorities such as Enhanced Managing Police Operations and Active Community Support. These priorities reinforce prompt police response, public participation, and strong partnerships with local government and social welfare agencies in protecting vulnerable individuals.

As the PNP strengthens its efforts to protect children and respond to individuals in distress under the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., it assures the public of “Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat, at Nararamdaman.”

Despite the massive public turnout across the country, the observance of Undas 2026 concluded with no major security-related incidents nationwide, as the Philippine National Police (PNP) reported generally peaceful and orderly conditions following its post-assessment of the nationwide security operations.

Under the leadership of Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., the PNP sustained its nationwide security and public assistance operations throughout the observance, helping ensure that millions of Filipinos could visit their departed loved ones safely and peacefully.

Consolidated monitoring reports showed that 5,311 cemeteries, memorial parks, and columbaria were monitored nationwide, recording a cumulative crowd estimate of 59,090,710 throughout the monitoring period.

Despite the magnitude of public turnout, only nine incidents were recorded nationwide: three road crashes, one sea or air mishap, one fire incident, one gender-based violence incident, one case of illegal possession of a fi***rm, and two other incidents. None escalated into a major untoward or significant security-related incident.

These consisted of one fi***rm, 974 pointed or bladed weapons, 124 alcoholic drinks, seven loudspeakers and sound systems, six gambling paraphernalia, 3,088 lighters, 1,841 ci******es or vapes, 181 cooking materials, four chemical containers, 512 flammable substances, and 408 other prohibited items. No explosives or illegal drugs were confiscated.

These results were supported by the deployment of 141,172 security and public assistance personnel nationwide, composed of 73,034 PNP personnel, 16,560 augmentation personnel from partner agencies, and 51,578 force multipliers.

Police personnel maintained visibility and readiness in cemeteries, memorial parks, churches, major thoroughfares, airports, seaports, land transport terminals, and other convergence areas. They conducted foot and mobile patrols, manned Police Assistance Desks, facilitated traffic movement, assisted visitors and travelers, and coordinated with local authorities and emergency responders to address public safety concerns.

Chief PNP PGen Nartatez credited the outcome to the collective efforts of police personnel, partner agencies, local government units, force multipliers, and the public.

“Sa kabila ng milyon-milyong dumagsa sa mga sementeryo at memorial parks, naging maayos at mapayapa ang ating Undas. This shows the value of preparation, police visibility, and cooperation. Nagpapasalamat tayo sa ating mga kababayan at partners na naging katuwang natin sa pagpapanatili ng kaligtasan ng lahat,” he said.

The Chief PNP also recognized the contributions of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, Bureau of Fire Protection, Philippine Coast Guard, local government units, transport authorities, medical responders, civic organizations, and other stakeholders who supported the nationwide security arrangements.

The results underscore the PNP's commitment to President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s directive on public safety and reflect its Focused Agenda, particularly Enhanced Managing Police Operations (EMPO), through coordinated deployment, proactive policing, and sustained inter-agency cooperation.

As the return travel continues, police personnel remain visible along major roads and transport hubs to assist commuters, manage traffic, and ensure public safety.

The PNP considers the peaceful observance a shared accomplishment, made possible by the cooperation of government agencies, communities, and the public.

The PNP remains committed to responsive and people-centered service under its guiding mantra: Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat at Nararamdaman.

LONG-OUTSTANDING WARRANTS LEAD TO ARREST OF TWO NCR REGIONAL MOST WANTED

Two fugitives wanted for robbery and r**e were arrested in separate police operations in Metro Manila, ending years of evading arrest and underscoring the Philippine National Police's continuing efforts to locate individuals with standing warrants of arrest.

Under the leadership of Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., Chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP), the operations resulted in the apprehension of two individuals listed among the Regional Top 10 Most Wanted Persons of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO). Both arrests were carried out on November 1, 2026.

In Pasay City, a 35-year-old man ranked No. 10 Regional Most Wanted Person was arrested at his residence in Barangay 123 by operatives of the San Juan City Police Station's Warrant and Subpoena Section under the Eastern Police District.

He was wanted under two separate warrants issued by courts in Pasig and San Juan City in November 2021, both for Robbery in Band, with recommended bails of ₱100,000.00 and ₱3,000.00, respectively.

In a separate operation in Valenzuela City, police arrested a 43-year-old construction worker listed as the No. 6 Regional Most Wanted Person of NCRPO. He was also ranked No. 4 at both the Northern Police District and Valenzuela City Police Station levels.

The arrest was carried out near a medical facility along General Luna Avenue by the Valenzuela City Police Station's Warrant and Subpoena Section, together with the Regional Intelligence Unit NCR and the Southern District Intelligence Team.

The suspect was wanted under a warrant issued on December 16, 2021, by the Regional Trial Court, Branch 270, Valenzuela City, for r**e under Article 266-A, Paragraph 1 of the Revised Penal Code, with no bail recommended.

“Kahit gaano pa katagal magtago, hindi ibig sabihin ay tuluyan nang makakaiwas sa batas. The passage of time does not erase an outstanding warrant or stop the police from doing their duty. We will continue to pursue every lawful lead and serve court orders, because accountability should never depend on how long a person manages to stay out of sight,” PGEN Nartatez said.

The operations reflect the PNP's Focused Agenda, particularly Enhanced Managing Police Operations, which calls for coordinated, intelligence-driven and accountable police action. They also support President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s continuing call for a safer environment where the rule of law is upheld and communities can live with greater peace of mind.
