GIAWHAG ang katawhan nga moduyog sa RUN to End Violence Against Women (VAW) Year 2 agi’g pagbukas sa 18-day campaign to end VAW karong Nobyembre 25, adlaw’ng Miyerkules, 5:30 sa buntag diha sa Rio de Oro Boulevard, ning siyudad.

Ang maong advocacy run naglangkob sa 3 kilometers nga magsugod sa 5:30 sa buntag.

Lakip sa madawatan sa run for a cause ang libreng race bib. Anaa usab medal nga madawatan ang Top 5 finishers.

Libre kini ug “open to all.” Ang registration molungtad hangtud Nobyembre 19, ala 5:00 sa hapon.

Ang advocacy run inisyatiba sa City Inter-Agency Committee Against Trafficking, and Violence Against Women and their Children (CIACAT-VAWC) uban sa buhatan ni City Councilor Des Dahino, City Gender and Development Office. Kini hugot na gisuportahan sa Cones and Timer, buhatan ni Mayor Klarex Uy ug sa City Information Office. CID, STAKEHOLDERS SPONSOR FINANCIAL LITERACY TRAINING FOR 4P PARENTS

ANOTHER batch of Parent Leaders from various barangays in Cagayan de Oro City attended a Financial Literacy Training for Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries held at Cronin Hall, St. Augustine Metropolitan Cathedral, recently.

The training featured resource speakers from the Xavier University School of Business and Management like Dr. Ruthlove Russell, DM, College Dean and Rolan F. Literatus, CPA, MBA, CFA, REB, REA.

Participants gained valuable insights on financial management, including saving, budgeting, financial planning, and investment strategies aimed at promoting responsible money management and long-term financial stability.

The activity was held through Cagayan de Oro City Hall’s Community Improvement Division (CID) through its Cooperative Development Program and member institutions that make up the City Inter-Agency Committee (CIAC), in partnership with the Rotary Club of Cagayan de Oro Premier. During the meeting with all CDO barangay captains, Mayor Rolando “Klarex” Uy announced that the City Government of Cagayan de Oro will not hold its 2026 GENERAL CHRISTMAS PARTY as part of its preparations for the Super El Niño phenomenon.

Further details will follow, as the Mayor is expected to issue a memorandum within the day.

MAKAPAHIMULOS na og 20% Real Property Tax (RPT) Advance Payment Discount ang mga tag-iya sa real properties kon kabtangan sa yuta, gambalay ug makinaryas dinhi sa dakbayan sa Cagayan de Oro hangtud Disyembre 31, 2026, pahibalo sa City Assessment Department, uban sa City Finance Department.

Aron makapahimulos sa maong 20% realty tax discount, kinahanglan mabayran ang kinatibuk-ang kantidad sa buhis sa real properties para sa tuig 2027 sa dili pa matapos ang deadline karong Disyembre 31, 2026.

FOPANORMIN, CITY HALL LAUNCH 'TINAGBOAN FESTIVAL'

Food Processor Association of Northern Mindanao (FOPANORMIN) partnered with Cagayan de Oro City Hall in launching the annual food exhibit dubbed as “Tinagboan Festival,”Thursday, November 5, at Ayala Centrio Mall Event center, this City.

Committee on Trade and Commerce Chairperson City Councilor George Christopher Goking who represented Mayor Rolando ‘Klarex’ Uy, PHIVIDEC - Administrator Atty. Joseph Donato J. Bernedo were among those who led the ribbon cutting for the event.

Joining them were the Department of Agriculture (DA-10) represented by OIC-Regional Technical Director for Operations Viralou L. Tuquib, DVM, Provincial Director Jesse Abear of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)-Misamis Oriental, Department of Science and Technology (DOST-10) Assistant Regional Director Engr. Ruel Vincent C. Banal, Oro-Trade and Investment Promotions Center (Oro-TIPC) personnel headed by Oro-TIPC Chief John W. Asuncion and represented by its Oro-TIPC Assistant Department Manager Raelita Legaspi.

The festival features 34 booths featuring a wide range of food and non-food products including CDO’s Ginama homegrown products, coffee products, locally made chocolates, cocoa, chicharon, handicrafts, accessories, solar lights, tables, canned and bottled products along with other products of various Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Northern Mindanao.

The said food exhibit will run until November 6 . It has been known that this year’s food exhibit is in preparation of the fast approaching. Christmas season following its theme, “Celebrating our Roots, Sharing the joy of Christmas.” (NLB/CIO/photos by Roel Felicitas/CIO).
