Our sweet loot bags here at Catbalogan City Tourism, Culture, Arts & Information Office (CTCAIO) are available for this afternoon's SPOOKVOCACY as led by the Municipal Association of Catbalogan Employees (MACE) in partnership with the City Government of Catbalogan led by City Mayor Dexter Uy through the Local Council for the Protection of Children of Catbalogan City (LCPC) and Waray-Waray Youth Advocates (WARAYA).

Serving as an prelude to the 2026 National Children's Month this November 2026, this activity incorporates advocacy while celebrating a popular culture this All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day.

Earlier today, October 28, 2026, our Kinatbalogan City Museum and City Library welcomed a delegation from across Eastern Visayas Region as led by Philippine Information Agency (PIA) Regional Head, Mr. Reyan Arinto.

Their visit was part of their Gender and Development (GAD), Cultural-Cum-Sports
Fest, with the theme “Gender Equality in Action: United in Culture and Sports, Resilient Against El Niño” on October 28-30, 2026.

Said tour aligns with this month’s 𝗠𝘂𝘀𝗲𝘂𝗺𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗚𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵 (MGM) this October 2026 and following their Kinatbalogan visit, the delegation visited the exhibit at city hall lobby before their official courtesy call with City Mayor Dexter Uy.

Every Tuesday, we at 𝙆𝙄𝙉𝘼𝙏𝘽𝘼𝙇𝙊𝙂𝘼𝙉 𝘾𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙈𝙪𝙨𝙚𝙪𝙢 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝘾𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙇𝙞𝙗𝙧𝙖𝙧𝙮 will be featuring Binisaya or Waray-waray words as part of our renewed initiative as managed by the Catbalogan City Tourism, Culture, Arts & Information Office (CTCAIO).

This is an effort to highlight and popularize this intangible cultural heritage of Catbalogan City as supported by City Mayor Dexter Uy towards the 2040 Derecho Uswag Development Agenda under the priority area.

With the weekend just a day away, a much calmer atmosphere has taken over the City Library with only a few students (understandably so because, well, Friday) dropping by.

Yes, they still came here to study. They still came here to do some research or avail themselves of the printing services.

The difference? No school uniforms today, no reviewers or notebooks strewn all over the tables, no scrambling to cover as many readings as possible. Just students in more comfortable get-up, taking their time reading and studying in a more leisurely manner. Just the perfect way of anticipating the weekends.

The City Library is that one place that enables students to escape from the hectic atmosphere of the campus without taking their focus or interest away from their studies.

Perhaps it's the peace and quiet combined with the sight of books lining the walls that puts them in this mindset while still being able to relax and unwind. Hopefully, this contrast will keep them coming back. Our doors will always be open.
