The Iloilo Provincial Health Office successfully conducted the Updates on the National Prevention and Control Program for ABTC Managers on May 28, 2026, at Days Hotel by Wyndham Iloilo City. The activity gathered ABTC Coordinators from various LGUs and district hospitals to discuss program updates, strengthen collaboration, and enhance rabies prevention and control efforts in the province.
We extend our sincere appreciation to Ms. Ameliz G. Mardoquio of the DOH Western Visayas Center for Health Development for the updates on the National and Regional Rabies Prevention and Control Program, and to Dr. Amalia J. Fernandez, Medical Specialist III of PhilHealth, for sharing the latest updates on the PhilHealth Animal Bite Package.
Special thanks also to Dr. Regine Maderico of San Dionisio RHU, DRYLMDH, and DVPSMDH for sharing their best practices in the implementation of the PhilHealth Animal Bite Package, providing valuable insights that can help improve service delivery across ABTCs in the province.

The Di**le Primary Care Facility, in collaboration with the Iloilo Provincial Health Office, Tib-ong Kabataan, and MindShift Initiative, conducted a Mental Health Symposium for the Sangguniang Kabataan leaders of the Municipality of Di**le.
The activity focused on raising awareness about mental health, self-care, and PRIME programs of the Iloilo Provincial Government. Through open discussions and learning sessions, participating youth leaders were equipped with basic knowledge on mental health, ways to practice self-care, and proper referral pathways for mental health concerns.
This initiative aims to strengthen support systems for the youth and improve service delivery by ensuring that accessible and available mental health services reach every young Ilonggo in the province.

Ang Ebola Virus Disease isa ka seryoso nga balatian nga naga lapta paagi sa direct contact sa dugo kag bodily fluids sang infected nga tawo ukon sapat.
Para maprotektahan ang imo kaugalingon kag pamilya:
โข Manghinaw pirme sang kamot gamit ang habon kag matinlo nga tubig
โข Likawan ang magpalapit sa mga gina suspetsahan nga may makalalaton nga sakit
โข Indi maghikap sang dugo, s**a, laway, higko kag iban pa nga bodily fluids sang iban nga tawo
Kung maka eksperyensya sang hilanat, palangluya, palanakit sang kalawasan, pags**a, sore throat, kag diarrhea, magpakonsulta dayon sa pinakamalapit nga health center.
Ang Ebola indi airborne. Buot silingon, sa direct contact lng ini nagalapta.

Last May 26, 2026, the Passi City Primary Care Facility together with the Iloilo Provincial Health Office conducted a Community-Based Advocacy activity on Newborn Screening, National Immunization, Oral Health, and Violence Against Women and Children (VAWC).
Pregnant women, Barangay Health Workers (BHWs), and healthcare providers participated in the activity to learn more about the importance of protecting the health and well-being of mothers, children, and families.
Through health education and community discussions, the activity aimed to encourage safer, healthier, and more informed communities for everyone.

The activity was assessed by the Department of Health Western Visayas Center for Health Development Assessment Team, checking implementation efforts, identify areas for improvement, and provide technical guidance toward more inclusive, responsive, and equitable health services.
Present during the activity were the Provincial Barangay Health Worker (BHW) Coordinator, the Assistant Division Chief of the Health Systems Support Division and BHW Federations Officers, reaffirming the provinceโs commitment to strengthening local health systems and ensuring that no community is left behind.

The Iloilo Provincial Health Office in collaboration with Hospital Management Office, MDRRMO Oton, NGO conducted the opening program for the Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) Training. This intensive training activity is still ongoing, designed to build a standard, frontline emergency response capability across our municipalities.
The program began with a briefing on training objectives by Dr. Jaspare Barrido (Department Head, MDRRMO Barotac Viejo) and a directive on local readiness from Local Chief Executive, Hon. Nielo โBongbongโ C. Tupas. Participants are currently undergoing rigorous practical training to handle critical, real-world medical emergencies.
The deployment of these skills directly strengthens community resilience and ensures immediate, effective care when disaster strikes.
