Pangasinan State University, through the Office of the Vice President for Local and International Affairs (OVPLIA), reinforced its commitment to advancing global teacher education standards as university officials participated in the SEA Teacher Programme Evaluation and the Southeast Asia Conference on Pre-Service Teacher Education held on October 20–21, 2026, at the Philippine Normal University (PNU) in Manila, co-organized with Teacher Education Council Philippines and REX Education.
Dr. Leizel M. Del Castillo, Director for International Relations, and Dr. Krigher C. Simbulan, Director for Continuing Professional Development / Former Head for Faculty and Student Mobility, represented PSU in the high-level gathering, which brought together institutional leaders and key education officials across all 11 SEAMEO Member Countries.
Held as part of the SEAMEO 60th Anniversary celebration and aligned with National Teachers' Month, the two-day regional event served as a collaborative platform to review, validate, and build upon the outcomes of the 11th Batch of the SEA-Teacher Programme. Delegates evaluated key operational insights, identified best practices, and framed strategic priorities to further elevate the design and cross-border impact of future student-teacher exchanges.
Beyond the program review, the conference fostered active dialogue on critical issues shaping pre-service teacher preparation—aiming to build more coherent, equitable, and future-ready teacher development frameworks across Southeast Asia.
PSU’s sustained engagement in SEAMEO initiatives underscores the university’s dedication to expanding international linkages, enriching global mobility opportunities for pre-service educators, and contributing actively to regional educational excellence.
