𝐂𝐆𝐖𝐂𝐄𝐈𝐒𝐂 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 4th 𝐐𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐰𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐒𝐢𝐦𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐄𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐃𝐫𝐢𝐥𝐥

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊: The Coast Guard Weapons, Communications, Electronics and Information System Command (CGWCEISC) actively participated in the 4th Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) conducted today, 05 November 2026 in support of the government's continuing efforts to strengthen disaster preparedness and emergency response capabilities.

During the drill, CGWCEISC personnel performed the “𝘿𝙪𝙘𝙠, 𝘾𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙧, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙃𝙤𝙡𝙙” procedure and observed established safety protocols. The exercise served as a practical opportunity for personnel to familiarize themselves with the proper actions to take during an earthquake and reinforce the importance of remaining alert, composed, and responsive during emergencies.

As a command responsible for supporting the Coast Guard's weapons, communications, electronics, and information systems capabilities, CGWCEISC recognizes that operational readiness begins with the safety and preparedness of its personnel. By staying prepared and working together, personnel help create a safer and more resilient workplace while remaining ready to serve whenever the need arises.

Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Commandant, Vice Admiral Rommel Supangan, has been donned and promoted to the rank of Admiral, today, November 3, 2026.

The promotion was approved by President Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr on October 19, 2026, as recommended by former Department of Transportation - Philippines (DOTr) Secretary Giovanni Lopez.

DOTr Secretary Vivencio B. Dizon presided over the donning and oath-taking ceremony, which was witnessed by Admiral Supangan’s family.

Admiral Supangan continues to lead the PCG in fulfilling its mandates on maritime security, maritime safety, maritime law enforcement, maritime search and rescue, and marine environmental protection through his four strategic pillars: (1) institutional transformation and good governance, (2) strengthening effective maritime governance, (3) modernization and capacity building, and (4) strategic partnerships and cooperation.

KUDOS: The CGWCEIS Training Institute proudly congratulates all 35 students of the Coast Guard Information System Technician Specialization Course (CGISTSC) Class 06-2026 “QUANTUM” for achieving a 100% passing rate in the TESDA Computer Systems Servicing (CSS) National Certificate II (NC II) Assessment!

This remarkable achievement reflects the dedication, perseverance, and technical competence of all 35 students, as well as the commitment and effectiveness of the Institute’s instructors and training personnel in delivering quality technical education and competency-based training.

The 35 successful examinees out of 35 students demonstrate the effectiveness of the Training Institute’s efforts to develop highly competent Coast Guard Information System Technicians. Their success also highlights the importance of hands-on training and practical skills development in preparing students to perform computer systems installation, configuration, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair.

Beyond the achievement of the class, this milestone reflects the CGWCEIS Training Institute’s continuing commitment to excellence in technical education, skills development, and mission readiness. Through quality instruction and relevant training programs, the Institute continues to equip Coastguardians with the knowledge and competencies needed to support the Philippine Coast Guard’s information systems and technological capabilities.

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) held a retirement ceremony to honor Rear Admiral Roben De Guzman PCG for his 35 years of dedicated public service held in Manila on October 26, 2026.

Presided over by PCG Commandant Admiral Rommel A Supangan PCG, the ceremony brought together senior officers, enlisted personnel, civilian employees, and members of the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary (PCGA) to recognize RADM De Guzman’s distinguished career and lasting contributions to the organization.

A member of the PMA “Marilag” Class of 1995, RADM De Guzman was born and raised in Aritao, Nueva Vizcaya, where his journey in public service began. Throughout his career, he held various leadership positions in maritime safety and security, environmental protection, operations, education and training, and information systems.

“Success is seen by the world, but satisfaction is felt by your soul. Because at the end of the day, when the noise fades away, it is not the praise that stays; it is the peace you feel inside,” RADM De Guzman said in his closing remarks.

“RADM De Guzman’s retirement marks the end of one chapter, but it does not erase the work that has brought him here—the responsibilities he has carried, the tough decisions he has had to make, and the people he has inspired,” PCG Commandant Admiral Supangan said.

“Tonight, we celebrate a career that has come full circle. You have contributed so much to the Coast Guard Service. The generations of coast guardsmen you have shaped are a testament to your legacy. You have helped shape not only our units but also the very soul of our organization. You have always led with purpose and a strong conviction to excel,” he added.

𝐋𝐨𝐨𝐤 : The Coast Guard Weapons, Communications, Electronics and Information System Command (CGWCEISC) conducted the Joint Turnover Ceremony of the Deputy Commander, CGWCEISC, and the Coast Guard Information System (CGIS) at Headquarters CGWCEISC, Mandaluyong City, on October 21, 2026.

During the ceremony, Commodore Roderick Denila PCG formally turned over his duties and responsibilities as Acting Deputy Commander, CGWCEISC, to the newly designated Deputy Commander, Commodore Geronimo Tuvilla PCG. Meanwhile, Captain Rodel Hernandez PCG assumed the position of Commander, CGIS, succeeding Commodore Denila PCG.

In recognition of his exemplary leadership and invaluable service to the Command, Commodore Denila PCG was awarded the Coast Guard Superior Achievement Medal and Ribbon, honoring his significant contributions during his tenure as Acting Deputy Commander, CGWCEISC, and Acting Commander, CGIS.

Commodore Denila PCG, the outgoing Acting Deputy Commander, CGWCEISC and Commander, CGIS, expressed his sincere gratitude to the former Commandant, PCG the Commander of CGWCEISC, and all personnel for the opportunity to serve the Command for more than two years. He also highlighted the advancements in CGIS capabilities achieved during his tenure, reflecting his commitment to strengthening the Command’s technical and operational effectiveness.

Incoming Commander CGIS, Captain Hernandez PCG, emphasized teamwork and continuous improvement in building on existing accomplishments, enhancing information system capabilities, and addressing the evolving operational needs of Coast Guard units.

Commodore Tuvilla PCG, the newly designated Deputy Commander of CGWCEISC, expressed his commitment to supporting the Commander in fulfilling the Command’s mission by sharing responsibilities and strengthening teamwork. He also emphasized the importance of personnel cooperation in achieving the Command’s objectives.

In his inspirational message, Vice Admiral Arnaldo Lim PCG, Commander CGWCEISC stressed that leadership transitions present opportunities to welcome fresh perspectives, build on past accomplishments, and strengthen teamwork. He further encouraged all personnel to extend their full support and cooperation to the new leadership, underscoring that unity, professionalism, and shared commitment are essential to the continued success of the Command.

With the new leadership taking the helm, CGWCEISC remains committed in advancing its mandate, strengthening technical capabilities, and ensuring responsive and dependable support for the operational requirements of the Philippine Coast Guard.

The ceremony formally installed Vice Admiral Rommel Supangan PCG as the new PCG Commandant, succeeding Admiral Ronnie Gil L. Gavan PCG. The leadership transition reaffirms the PCG’s commitment to safeguarding the country’s maritime interests and strengthening its capabilities in maritime safety and security, search and rescue, and marine environmental protection.

As the country’s Chief Executive and Guest of Honor and Speaker, President Marcos Jr. witnessed and led the formal transfer of command and responsibility, highlighting the vital role of the PCG in protecting the Filipino people and upholding the country’s maritime rights and interests.

Under its new leadership, the PCG will continue to strengthen its operational readiness, enhance coordination with partner agencies, and advance initiatives that promote a safe, secure, and clean maritime environment.
