The Department of Trade and Industry – Northern Samar Provincial Office (DTI-NSPO), through Negosyo Center Palapag, successfully conducted a Seminar on Consumer Advocacy on October 21, 2026, at Barangay Asum, Palapag, Northern Samar, in partnership with the Barangay Officials.

The activity aimed to raise awareness of consumer rights and responsibilities, promote informed purchasing decisions, and strengthen consumer protection at the community level. Through this initiative, participants gained valuable insights into becoming more vigilant, responsible, and empowered consumers.

DTI-NSPO, through Negosyo Center Palapag, remains committed to promoting consumer welfare and ensuring that every consumer is informed, protected, and empowered.

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) – Northern Samar, in collaboration with the University of Eastern Philippines (UEP) University Performing Arts Association (UPAO) and the ALOP Artist League of Palapag, conducted the Multimedia Arts Workshop on Acrylic Painting and Photography on September 30, 2026, at the University of Eastern Philippines, University Town, Catarman, Northern Samar.

The activity gave youth a chance to build skills and creativity through hands-on acrylic painting and photography, and to explore their artistic interests and potential.

The workshop featured Mr. Melchor Maceriano as Resource Person for Photography and Mr. Ace Joven Balleta as Resource Person for Acrylic Painting, who shared their knowledge, techniques, and practical insights with the participants.

This activity shows the ongoing collaboration between DTI Northern Samar, UEP UPAO, and ALOP in offering meaningful learning opportunities for youth and supporting initiatives that promote creativity, skills development, and entrepreneurship.

DTI Northern Samar, in partnership with the Local Government Unit of Palapag, conducted the Technology Transfer Training on Piñato Processing on September 28, 2026 at the People’s Center, Brgy. Tambangan, Palapag, Northern Samar.

The training brought together local participants to learn practical techniques in piñato processing, preparation, packaging, and product development, turning a familiar local treat into a potential source of livelihood and entrepreneurial opportunity.

Through the collaboration of DTI and LGU Palapag, local skills are strengthened, community-based products are developed, and opportunities are created, one local product at a time.

Palapag has the flavor. Its people have the potential. Together, we turn both into opportunity. ✨

The Department of Trade and Industry – Northern Samar Provincial Office (DTI-NSPO), through Negosyo Center Palapag, in partnership with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Palapag, successfully conducted the Seminar on Financial Literacy, Entrepreneurship, and Consumer Advocacy for Informal Workers in Palapag, Northern Samar on September 11, 2026.

The seminar provided participants with practical knowledge on financial management, entrepreneurship, consumer rights and responsibilities, and opportunities for sustainable livelihood, helping informal workers become more financially capable, entrepreneurial, and empowered consumers.

Through the continued partnership of DTI-NSPO and LGU Palapag, we strengthen our commitment to creating opportunities and building an inclusive, resilient, and empowered local community.
