In a proactive move towards strategic and risk-informed local governance, the Municipality of Palapag officially convened key municipal officials, department heads, national agency representatives, Punong Barangays, civil society organizations (CSOs), and sectoral secretaries for the Comprehensive Development Plan (CDP) Formulation – Workshop.

Held on October 14–15, 2026, from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM at the Liga Session Hall, Liga ng mga Barangay Building, People’s Center, Palapag, Northern Samar, the two-day event marked a crucial step in updating the municipality’s overarching development blueprint.

The activity brought together a broad spectrum of stakeholders to ensure inclusive representation. Participants included the Sangguniang Bayan members, local department heads (such as MPDC, MBO, MSWDO, MDRRMO, MAO, and MENRO), barangay officials, education district heads, civil society organization (CSO) representatives, sectoral secretariat teams, and the local police and fire bureaus.

Armed with laptops and technical data, attendees actively engaged in sectoral breakout sessions and plenary discussions to provide vital inputs reflecting the actual conditions and grassroots needs of Palapag’s constituents.

With the successful completion of Workshop, the local government unit moves closer to finalizing a responsive, risk-resilient development plan that aligns with Palapag @ 2040: Padayon Pag-uswag. The collaborative outputs generated during the two-day workshop will serve as foundational blocks for the municipality’s upcoming developmental milestones and prioritization frameworks

Officials from the Civil Service Commission Regional Office VIII (CSC RO8) conducted an official agency visit to the Local Government Unit of Palapag today, October 29, 2026, featuring a courtesy call on Municipal Mayor Hon. Florencio A. Batula and a briefing on civil service governance at the SB Legislative Hall.

The visiting CSC RO8 delegation was led by Assistant Regional Director Atty. Gina A. Crucio, Chief Human Resource Specialist Dr. Banello P. Gabon, and CSC Provincial Director Atty. Benjie M. Gelizon.

The engagement opened with a courtesy call on Mayor Batula, followed by a key session introducing the PRIME-Embedded Systems Governance framework to municipal leaders, department heads, and human resource focal persons. The briefing highlighted modern standards for institutionalizing quality human resource management systems and enhancing public sector competence.

Among the LGU officials in attendance were Municipal Vice-Mayor Hon. Melvic L. Chy, Municipal Administrator Atty. Lorajean A. Alamin, HRMO III Ms. Arlita P. Apolonio, along with focal persons from the Planning and Development Office, Accounting, and Information Technology.

The agency visit underscores LGU Palapag’s continuous initiative to align local administrative operations with national civil service standards, paving the way for more efficient and institutionalized public service delivery.

The Land Transportation Office (LTO), in partnership with the Municipal Government of Palapag, is currently bringing vehicle registration and emission testing services directly to Palapagnons through the LTO Mobile Registration and Emission Testing drive!

This initiative provides accessible, convenient, and efficient services to local vehicle owners and drivers to ensure road safety and full compliance with transportation laws.

PUBLIC ADVISORY

The Land Transportation Office (LTO) will conduct a Mobile Registration and Emission Testing Activity at the MDRRMO Building (near the Palapag Public Market), Palapag, Northern Samar on the following dates:

📆October 28-29, 2026 (Wednesday & Thursday)
Starting at 9:00 A.M.

This activity is intended to assist residents of Palapag and neighboring municipalities in renewing the registration of their motorcycles, tricycles, and other motor vehicles without having to travel to an LTO district office.

Requirements:
• Original or Photocopy of Official Receipt (OR) and Certificate of Registration (CR), plus one (1) photocopy

• Actual presentation of the vehicle for emission testing

Vehicle owners with registrations due for renewal are encouraged to avail themselves of this convenient service.
