For the fourth time this year, another Green Sea Turtle has chosen the shores of Alona, Panglao, this time near Alona by JPark to lay her eggs, a promising sign of the area's importance as a nesting habitat.

To give the eggs the best chance of survival, DENR, CENRO Tagbilaran, Panglao Tourism Office, Philippine Coast Guard, and Alona by JPark Management worked together to relocate the nest at 1:30 AM on May 29 after it was discovered in the high tide zone, where seawater would have flooded the eggs.

The nesting site has since been secured and protected from crowds, events, dogs, and passing vehicles that may disturb the developing eggs. This collaborative conservation effort reflects our shared commitment to protecting marine wildlife and ensuring that these future hatchlings have a safe journey from nest to sea.
