PASAY CITY, May 31, 2026 — A 28 year old repatriated overseas Filipino worker (OFW) wanted for Qualified Trafficking in Persons was arrested upon arrival at NAIA Terminal 1 from Phnom Penh, Cambodia on Sunday.

The arrest was carried out through the joint efforts of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), the Philippine National Police Aviation Security Group (AVSEGROUP), and the Bureau of Immigration.

The suspect is facing charges for Qualified Trafficking in Persons under Section 4(j) in relation to Section 6 of Republic Act No. 9208, as amended by Republic Act No. 10364, with no recommended bail.

Following his arrest, the suspect was brought to CIDG Benguet Provincial Field Unit for proper disposition and detention pending further legal proceedings.

AVSEGROUP Director PBGEN Dionisio Bartolome Jr. lauded the successful operation, emphasizing, "The interagency cooperation in the aviation sector is vital in bringing wanted persons before the law." # # #
