PNP HEIGHTENS SECURITY, PUBLIC ASSISTANCE AS ALL SAINTS’ DAY DRAWS CROWDS

With more Filipinos visiting cemeteries and memorial parks to remember their departed loved ones, the Philippine National Police (PNP), under the leadership of Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., Chief PNP, has further strengthened its nationwide security presence, with 166,365 personnel deployed as of 6:00 AM today, November 1, to help ensure a safe and orderly observance of All Saints’ Day.

The deployment includes 78,952 PNP personnel, 20,837 personnel from other government agencies and units, and 67,524 force multipliers. Of these, 29,185 personnel are assigned to cemeteries and columbaria, supported by 5,308 police assistance desks. Other personnel are positioned at places of worship, major thoroughfares, transportation hubs, tourist destinations, and checkpoints to provide security and assistance.

Chief PNP PGen Nartatez said the increased deployment reflects the PNP’s continuing assessment of public movement and the need to position personnel where their presence and assistance are most needed.

“Mas marami tayong kababayan ang bumibisita ngayon sa mga sementeryo at memorial parks, kaya mas pinalakas natin ang police presence sa mga lugar na inaasahang dadagsain ng publiko. Our personnel are there not only to maintain peace and order but also to assist families, guide motorists, and respond to people who may need help. We want every Filipino to observe Undas with peace of mind, knowing that our police officers are ready to serve wherever they are needed,” CPNP Nartatez said.

The PNP remains under Full Alert Status, with police units sustaining security, traffic management, and public assistance operations throughout the Undas period. This is in line with the directives of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to strengthen public safety and maintain peace and order, and supports the PNP Focused Agenda, particularly Enhanced Managing Police Operations (EMPO), through coordinated deployment and the effective use of personnel and resources.

The PNP also reminds the public to take necessary precautions throughout the observance. Families leaving their homes should secure doors and windows, switch off unnecessary electrical appliances, keep valuables in safe places, and inform a trusted neighbor if they will be away for an extended period.

Those visiting cemeteries are advised to keep personal belongings secure, avoid bringing unnecessary valuables, and keep children close, particularly in crowded areas. Travelers, meanwhile, are encouraged to check their vehicles before departure, plan their routes, observe traffic rules, and avoid distracted or fatigued driving. Commuters should also remain attentive to their belongings, especially in crowded terminals.

PGEN Nartatez emphasized that public cooperation is equally important in keeping communities safe.

“Ang kaligtasan ay hindi lamang responsibilidad ng kapulisan. We also need the cooperation of every family and every member of the community. Bago umalis ng bahay, siguraduhing nakasara ang mga pinto at bintana. Sa mga sementeryo, bantayan ang mga bata at personal na gamit, at sa pagbiyahe, maging maingat at sumunod sa mga batas-trapiko. Simple precautions can prevent unnecessary incidents and help make this occasion safe and meaningful for everyone,” he emphasized.

The PNP assures the public that its personnel will remain visible and accessible throughout the Undas observance, ready to provide assistance and respond to concerns. Through sustained police presence and cooperation with partner agencies and communities, the PNP remains committed to its promise of Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat at Nararamdaman.

Under the leadership of Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., Chief, Philippine National Police (PNP), police teams arrested a No. 3 Most Wanted Person in Brgy. Buyasan, San Mariano, Isabela. The suspect, a resident of Mayantoc, Tarlac, was facing three counts of statutory r**e under warrants of arrest issued by the Regional Trial Court in Camiling, Tarlac, with no bail recommended.

The arrest was carried out through the coordinated efforts of the Mayantoc Municipal Police Station, San Mariano Municipal Police Station, Isabela Police Provincial Office, Tarlac Police Provincial Office, and other supporting units.

In a separate operation, police personnel arrested another individual listed as a No. 4 Most Wanted Person in Brgy. Sta. Teresita, Angeles City, Pampanga, in connection with a murder case. The suspect was arrested by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by the court, with no bail recommended, and is currently under the custody of Angeles City Police Station 2.

Chief PNP Nartatez emphasized that the arrest of wanted persons remains an important part of the PNP's responsibility to uphold the rule of law and ensure that cases filed before the courts are given due course.

“Kapag may warrant of arrest, tungkulin nating kumilos at tiyaking naipatutupad ito nang maayos. ₱1.7-MILLION WORTH OF CI******ES LACKING HEALTH WARNINGS SEIZED IN ZAMBOANGA SIBUGAY; TWO ARRESTED

The leadership of Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., Chief, Philippine National Police (PNP), continues to reinforce the government's efforts to protect consumers and uphold regulations on to***co products following a police operation that resulted in the confiscation of ₱1.715 million worth of ci******es without the required graphic health warnings in Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay, on October 29, 2026.

The operation, conducted by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Zamboanga Sibugay Provincial Field Unit in coordination with the Ipil Municipal Police Station, led to the arrest of two individuals and the confiscation of 35 master cases of ci******es found in their possession and control.

The presence of ci******es without the prescribed health warnings raises concerns over compliance with regulations intended to inform consumers about the health risks of to***co use. Republic Act No. 10643, or the Graphic Health Warnings Law, requires to***co product packages to carry graphic and textual health warnings, while Republic Act No. 10863, or the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act, provides measures to address customs violations and illicit trade.

Chief PNP PGen Nartatez underscored that protecting the public also means ensuring that products being distributed and sold comply with established laws and regulations.

“Dapat malinaw sa lahat na may mga batas tayong kailangang sundin pagdating sa pagbebenta at pagdadala ng mga produkto. Hindi lamang ito usapin ng enforcement; usapin din ito ng pagprotekta sa mga mamimili at pagtiyak na walang napapabayaan sa pagpapatupad ng batas. We will continue to work with our partner agencies to address these violations through proper and lawful action,” PGen Nartatez said.

The PNP will sustain its coordination with relevant government agencies and local authorities to address the movement and distribution of non-compliant products. The operation also reflects the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to strengthen law enforcement and safeguard the welfare of the Filipino public.

This initiative supports the PNP Focused Agenda, particularly Enhanced Managing Police Operations (EMPO), through intelligence-led enforcement, effective coordination, and responsive police action against activities that undermine regulatory compliance.

As the PNP strengthens its role in protecting communities and upholding the law, it remains guided by its commitment to the Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat at Nararamdaman.

The Philippine National Police, under the leadership of PNP Chief PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., intensified its campaign against illegal mining in Northern Mindanao, seizing ₱1,043,000.00 worth of mining equipment, paraphernalia, and suspected mineral ores and arresting four individuals in a series of operations across Cagayan de Oro City, Opol, and El Salvador City on October 27, 2026.

In Barangay Tumpagon, Cagayan de Oro City, a joint operation involving the Mines and Geosciences Bureau–Region X (MGB-X), police units, and the Philippine Army uncovered fresh excavations, shallow pits, and stockpiles of suspected mineral ores. Six unidentified men fled upon the team’s arrival, leaving behind equipment and materials valued at ₱112,000.00.

Two separate operations along the Iponan River in Opol, Misamis Oriental, enforced a cease-and-desist order issued by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources–Region X on July 2, 2026. Authorities seized water pumps, sluice equipment, hoses, mats, electrical components, a generator set, and other mining tools valued at ₱636,000.00 combined.

Meanwhile, a routine checkpoint in Barangay Amoros, El Salvador City, led to the apprehension of four men after police found 37 pieces of suspected mineral ores inside a Suzuki multicab. The individuals, identified by the aliases “Niel,” 31; “Kris,” 61; “Nirth,” 41; and “Mel,” 31, failed to present the required documents. The suspected mineral ores were valued at ₱150,000.00, while the vehicle was worth approximately ₱145,000.00, bringing the total seizure in the incident to ₱295,000.00. Three of the apprehended individuals are residents of Davao del Norte, while the fourth is from Misamis Oriental.

The four individuals are under the custody of the El Salvador City Police Station for documentation and further investigation. They may face charges for violations of Republic Act No. 7942, or the Philippine Mining Act of 1995. The confiscated items are for turnover to MGB-X.

“Illegal mining will not be tolerated as it threatens our natural resources and undermines the law. We will sustain enforcement efforts against those who engage in unauthorized extraction and transport of mineral resources,” PGEN Nartatez said.

“Hindi dapat pagkakitaan ang likas na yaman sa paraang labag sa batas. Pananagutin natin ang mga mapatutunayang lumabag, alinsunod sa batas at sa tamang proseso,” he added.

The operations support the PNP Focused Agenda, particularly Enhanced Managing Police Operations, by strengthening enforcement against illegal activities that threaten the environment and public welfare.

As the PNP safeguards the country’s natural resources and strengthens enforcement against illegal mining under the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., it upholds its commitment to “Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat, at Nararamdaman.”
