The Commission on Higher Education International Affairs Service (CHED IAS) officially commenced the Project PIVOT (Partnerships for International Visibility and Organizational Transformation) on 7 May 2026, signaling a bold step toward transformative international collaborations for Philippine higher education institutions (PHEIs).
Project PIVOT aims to forge lasting global ties that boost visibility, research, and institutional growth for our PHEIs. Dr. Christine Nabor-Ferrer, CHED IAS Director, delivered a compelling project overview, emphasizing sustainable partnerships around the globe.
The first Zoom session attracted an impressive 478 participants, reflecting strong interest from educators and administrators nationwide. Key speakers illuminated pathways to opportunities.
Ms. Christine Grace Catindig, Public Engagement Specialist at the United States (US) Embassy in the Philippines, explored Professional Exchange Programs and Institutional Partnerships. She highlighted collaborative and funding opportunities, professional exchanges, hosting of U.S. experts in the Philippines, and capacity-building initiatives available through the U.S. Embassy to support PHEIs.
Ms. Rochell Miguel, Program Officer at Fulbright Philippines, highlighted scholarships, research grants, and mobility options.
The virtual activity is scheduled weekly and will use a multisectoral approach to make IZN initiatives accessible to more PHEIs.

On April 30, 2026, the CHED-NCR Transnational Higher Education (TNHE) team joined the Global UNAP Stakeholders Recognition and the designation of the National Federation of Womenโs Clubs of the Philippines (NFWC) as a Global UNAP Peace Center at the NFWC Headquarters in Ermita, Manila.
The gathering was graced by various industry and government leaders such as PCW Chairperson Ermelita V. Valdeavilla, DOST Assistant Secretary Diana L. Ignacio, and more. CHED NCR team also met with former CHED Commissioner, now Global UNAP President Dr. Nona S. Ricafort, and TUP President Dr. Reynaldo P. Ramos.
Participating NCR HEIs included Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Muntinlupa, NU East Ortigas, New Era University, University of Perpetual Help System DALTA - Las Piรฑas, and Technological University of the Philippines

On April 23, 2026, the NCR International Relations Community โeNCRiptโ convened its 2nd monthly meeting, bringing together key stakeholders from CHED and United Nations Association of the Philippines (UNAP).

Discussions focused on strengthening eNCRiptโs directionโaligning priorities, setting initial timelines, and identifying key initiatives to advance IZN efforts across the NCR.

๐๐ข๐ข๐: The NCR International Relations Community Officers, collectively known as the NCR Engagement for Regional and International Partnership and Ties (eNCRipt), paid a courtesy visit to Director Christine Ferrer and the CHED International Affairs Service (CHED-IAS) on April 22, 2026.
The meeting highlighted eNCRiptโs role as a regional network of internationalization practitioners and aligned key priorities for NCR. It also opened further opportunities to strengthen collaboration in IZN and transnational education among HEIs in the region.
This engagement with CHED-IAS and CHED-NCR marks another significant step forward in advancing institutional linkages and global academic collaboration in the region.
