Trust is a cornerstone in the Nordic societies and fundamental to the strong democracies and the high level of civic engagement which characterize the Nordic countries: Denmark, Faroe Islands, Finland, Sweden, Greenland, Iceland, Norway and Åland.

As part of the Danish-Faroese Presidency of the Nordic Council of Ministers, eight young people from across the Nordic region has been asked to voice values and aspects they find important to their everyday lives 🇩🇰 🇫🇴 🇫🇮 🇬🇱 🇮🇸 🇳🇴 🇸🇪 🇦🇽

To Atli from Iceland 🇮🇸 trust is not an abstract idea. It is an integrated and important part of his everyday work-life where he cooperates, exchanges knowledge and experiences across country borders.
Atli believes that trust is something that goes beyond the people he knows personally. Trust is essential to his professional relations as it makes it easier to exchange ideas and learn from one another.

Did you know? The digital platform Nordjobb helps hundreds of young people every year to live and work in another Nordic country. By creating opportunities to cooperate and build new relations, the programme helps strengthen ties and trust across the Nordic region.

Five Years of Nordic International Water! 💧🇩🇰🇵🇰

Good partnerships take time to grow - and the best ones turn shared knowledge into lasting solutions. 🙌

Established in Denmark five years ago, Nordic International Water (NIW) opened its Pakistan office in 2023. At the company’s anniversary celebration in Islamabad, Danish Ambassador Maja Derrous Mortensen highlighted the value of NIW’s long-term commitment to Pakistan and its close collaboration with local partners 🤝

From planning and improving water and wastewater infrastructure to supporting more efficient water services, NIW is bringing Danish expertise closer to Pakistan’s needs

With water management and sustainable urban development presenting important challenges for Pakistan, partnerships that combine international experience with local knowledge can help make a lasting difference 🌱

Congratulations to NIW’s founders, team and partners on this milestone! Here’s to stronger Denmark-Pakistan cooperation, better water solutions and a greener future 👏👏

81 years ago, on 24 October - the UN was founded - born from the hope of a world united in peace, equality, and cooperation 🌏

Denmark is proud to have been among the founding members in 1945 and remains fully committed to the ideals and principles of the UN today.

As the world becomes increasingly turbulent, we do not need less of the UN. We need a stronger and more effective UN 🇺🇳

Making the UN fit for purpose to address the challenges of the 21st century requires reform. But together, we can build a safer, more just, and sustainable future for all 💪

Strong civil societies are the cornerstones of well-functioning democracies but they do not happen by themselves. They need to be nurtured and are built by people who actively choose to get involved.

As part of the Danish-Faroese Presidency of the Nordic Council of Ministers, eight young people from across the Nordic region has been asked to voice values and aspects they find important to their everyday lives 🇩🇰 🇫🇴 🇫🇮 🇬🇱 🇮🇸 🇳🇴 🇸🇪 🇦🇽

Frederik from Denmark 🇩🇰 is a volunteer in a youth house, and he believes that volunteering and youth engagement is important because it builds up confidence to exercise your influence and feel part of something bigger than yourself.
Frederik believes that active citizenship and strong local communities are very important - especially when you live far from capitals and big-city-life.

Did you know? Through the Nordic support scheme DEMOS, civil society organisations can receive support for projects that bring people together across Nordic borders. The scheme supports youth initiatives and civic engagement projects such as film festivals, research projects, conferences and travelling scholarships.

Building bridges for better healthcare! 🇩🇰🇵🇰

The Danish Ambassador was pleased to host AJ Vaccines A/S, a Danish company, bringing together key stakeholders from Pakistan’s healthcare sector to exchange perspectives and explore opportunities for collaboration 🙌

Danish companies exploring Pakistan’s healthcare market is an important step towards building stronger ties, sharing knowledge and opening doors to potential solutions for local health challenges ❗️

During its visit, AJ Vaccines also explored opportunities related to technology transfer and local production. With tuberculosis (TB) remaining a significant public health concern in Pakistan, closer engagement between Danish companies and Pakistani partners offers promising opportunities for future cooperation 💪🩺

Stronger Denmark-Pakistan partnerships can help turn shared knowledge into better health outcomes 🤝

Great to See Young Minds Turning Ideas into Innovation! 💡🔬

Curiosity, creativity and a passion for discovery were on full display at the Islamabad Science Festival, where the Danish Ambassador explored the inspiring work of Pakistan’s young innovators ✨

From engaging with students at their stalls to discovering next-generation solutions in technology and sustainability, the visit was a powerful reminder of what young minds can achieve when curiosity meets creativity 🙌

It was especially encouraging to see students from the University of Narowal taking part and winning first prize at the university level! The students also benefit from the Danish-funded incubation centre on their campus, which supports young people in developing their ideas and turning them into practical solutions 👏👏

Kudos to all the bright young scientists pushing boundaries and challenging conventional thinking. Investing in young talent and creating spaces for innovation can help turn today’s bold ideas into tomorrow’s breakthroughs!

Did you know? Through the exchange programme Nordplus, pupils, students and educators across the Nordic and Baltic region can study, learn and exchange experiences together. Nordplus helps create connections, friendships and understanding across borders.

Smarter Energy Use, Stronger Industry ⚡️💪

How can energy efficiency help industries cut costs, boost productivity and become more competitive? The Danish Embassy and the Danish Energy Agency brought together industry leaders, government representatives, financial institutions and technology providers in Karachi for “Industrial Energy Efficiency in Practice: Danish-Pakistani Knowledge Exchange.” 🇩🇰🇵🇰

Nadeem Niwaz, Special Advisor at the Danish Energy Agency, shared Denmark’s experience in energy efficiency and insights from the Denmark-Pakistan Strategic Sector Cooperation programme in Energy, while Grundfos showcased practical solutions and industrial success stories 💡

An interactive panel discussion explored the barriers, opportunities and next steps for turning energy-saving potential into real investments and measurable results 🙌

Through continued knowledge exchange and collaboration, Denmark and Pakistan are working together towards a more energy-efficient, productive and competitive industrial sector 🤝🌱
