On the blessed occasion of Eid-ul-Adha, Acting Speaker of the Provincial Assembly of Sindh, Anthony Naveed, extends heartfelt greetings to the entire nation.

This sacred occasion reminds us of the values of sacrifice, selflessness, and devotion to seeking the pleasure of Almighty Allah, said Acting Speaker Anthony Naveed.

He stated that the true message of Eid-ul-Adha lies not only in the sacrifice of animals, but also in sacrificing our ego, selfishness, and personal interests for the greater good.

Anthony Naveed emphasized that we must include in our celebrations those who continue to face hardship, deprivation, and suffering.

He further said that Eid ul-Adha conveys a practical message of compassion, equality, unity, and care for humanity.

Acting Speaker Anthony Naveed also urged the nation to remember the oppressed people around the world and in our region in their prayers during these blessed days.

“I pray that this Eid brings peace, love, prosperity, and national unity for all of us,” he added.

Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, along with First Lady Aseefa Bhutto Zardari, graced a prestigious ceremony in Karachi to commemorate 75 years of diplomatic relations and everlasting friendship between Pakistan and China.

Karachi, 22 May 2026: The Government of Sindh organized a dignified ceremony in Karachi to mark the completion of 75 years of diplomatic relations and enduring friendship between Pakistan and China. Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, attended the event as the chief guest, along with First Lady Aseefa Bhutto Zardari.

The ceremony was attended by Acting Governor Sindh Syed Awais Qadir Shah, Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah, the Chinese Consul General, members of the provincial cabinet, Members of the Provincial Assembly of Sindh, representatives of the Chinese and Pakistani business community, civil society members, and senior government officials.

On this occasion, tribute was paid to the historic 75-year friendship between Pakistan and China, while the strong diplomatic, economic, and people-to-people ties between the two countries were described as a matter of great pride.

A cake-cutting ceremony was also held during the event, in which Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, First Lady of Pakistan Aseefa Bhutto Zardari, Acting Governor Sindh Syed Awais Qadir Shah, Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah, and the Chinese Consul General in Karachi, Yang Yudong, participated.

Addressing the ceremony, the speakers stated that Pakistan-China friendship has emerged successful through every test of time, and that relations between the two countries are growing even stronger on the basis of mutual trust, respect, and shared development.

On the occasion, the Ambassador of China to Pakistan addressed the ceremony through a video link, while Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah, and the Chinese Consul General also addressed the gathering and described Pakistan-China relations as essential for peace, development, and prosperity in the region.

During the session of the Provincial Assembly of Sindh held on Friday, 22nd May 2026, Senior Minister Government of Sindh, Sharjeel Inam Memon, supported and spoke in favor of the resolution to commemorate 75 years of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China.

The resolution is as follows:

“The Provincial Assembly of Sindh, on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China:

Recognizes with profound appreciation the completion of seventy-five years of diplomatic relations between the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and the People’s Republic of China, founded upon mutual trust, sovereign equality, strategic cooperation, and enduring friendship.

Acknowledges that since the establishment of diplomatic ties in 1951, Pakistan and China have consistently supported each other on matters of national interest and have strengthened bilateral relations through cooperation in trade, infrastructure, defense, education, technology, culture, and people-to-people exchanges.

Pays tribute to the visionary leadership and peoples of both countries, whose unwavering commitment has transformed the Pakistan-China relationship into an All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership, particularly through landmark initiatives such as the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), which has significantly contributed to economic development, connectivity, energy generation, and employment opportunities in Pakistan.

Appreciates the continued support extended by the Government and people of China to Pakistan during challenging times, including natural disasters, economic difficulties, and global health emergencies, thereby further strengthening the bonds of brotherhood between the two nations.
