World Hepatitis Day – Awareness Lecture by Thalassaemia Society of Pakistan

Today, on 28th July, the Thalassaemia Society of Pakistan organized a dedicated awareness lecture in observance of World Hepatitis Day 2025. The event aimed to raise awareness about the serious risks of hepatitis, especially among individuals with thalassaemia who require regular blood transfusions.

During the session, healthcare professionals highlighted the link between unsafe transfusions and the spread of hepatitis B and C, and stressed the need for routine screening, vaccination, and safe blood practices in Pakistan. The lecture also addressed the burden of hepatitis in the country and the urgent need for preventive measures at both the community and policy levels.

The Society reaffirmed its commitment to educating families, supporting patients, and working closely with healthcare providers to ensure that thalassaemia care includes strong hepatitis prevention protocols.

Let’s stand together to protect vulnerable groups and move towards a hepatitis-free future.

📌 “Hepatitis can’t wait – and neither can we.”
