It is thanks to everyone's generous support that we have raised over $450,000 through our 2026 annual Charity Gala Dinner. SAMH and SACS aims to bring Light to lives through our Medical, Autism, Senior, Psychiatric and Family and Children services, and as we celebrated another night of reunion and giving, we were also humbled and reminded by the Light that brings us life and power everything that we do - our donors, beneficiaries and staff. 🌟

We would also like to thank Minister Josephine Teo of Ministry of Digital Development and Information (MDDI) for gracing our event as our Guest-of-Honour and bearing witness to the momentous cheque presentation from Lew Foundation to the St Andrew's Mission School (SAMS) Building Fund. Our Saints and educators from SAMS, seniors from St. Andrew's Active Ageing Centre (Havelock), staff from St. John's-St. Margaret's Nursing Home and the Saints Chorale from St Andrew's Junior College also made the night a great success with their brilliant musical, song and dance stages.

From being completely withdrawn and unable to work or leave home, Chris slowly overcame depression with the support of Sean, a rehabilitation counsellor from Anglican Care Centre (Bukit Batok) as well as his family. Now, Chris is back to his active, confident self, working and volunteering.

What can be done for youths' mental health?

SACS provides wellbeing, support and counselling services for youths. Located within neighbourhoods at Sengkang and Pasir Ris, our centres are welcoming spaces where youths facing mental health distress can find emotional support.

[Visit to Singapore Anglican Community Services @ Yishun Blk 426A]

I had the pleasure of visiting Singapore Anglican Community Services (SAMH and SACS) at Blk 426A recently. During my visit, I learnt more about the various SACS programmes and activities organised to keep our seniors engaged, active and connected with the community. I learnt that there was thriving thrift shop too, which operates from 9.00am to 5.00pm on weekdays!

There are interesting and regular activities organised by SACS for our seniors in the neighbourhood. For example, there was an Angklung session conducted by Yanto & the team from Esplanade - Theatres on the Bay, providing our seniors with opportunities to enjoy music, learn new skills and bond with one another.

My appreciation to Si Kai and the team for sharing more about their work. Such programmes help foster an active and inclusive community in Nee Soon. If you know a senior in our neighbourhood who stays nearby and could benefit from their programmes, do check them out at Blk 426A!
