If It's Swollen, Stop Using It.
Before you pack your bag for the weekend, take a quick look at your devices.
Is your power bank casing starting to bulge? Is your phone screen lifting? Does a device feel unusually hot or look damaged?
These may be signs of battery damage or swelling. Stop using the device and handle it carefully.
๐ Do not charge it.
๐ Do not puncture, bend, or press on the battery.
๐ Do not place it in the general waste bin.
โ
Check the appropriate disposal guidance before bringing a damaged or swollen battery to a collection point.
A quick check can prevent a damaged battery from becoming a bigger problem.

Is Your Workplace Prepared for Lithium-Ion Battery Fire Risks?
Phones, laptops, tablets, power banks, and wireless devices are charged throughout the working day. For many offices, this is now part of the everyday risk profile.
Traditional ABC extinguishers remain important for common workplace fire risks. Your next fire-safety review should also consider whether your equipment is suitable for lithium-ion battery fire risks.
Review charging practices, keep escape routes clear, and assess the areas where devices are regularly charged or stored.

Know the Warning Signs of Battery Failure.
When a battery starts to fail, warning signs can escalate quickly.
โ ๏ธ The Signs:
1. A strange chemical smell.
2. A faint hissing or popping sound.
3. Smoke or white vapour.
4. Intense heat coming from the bag or device.
If you notice these signs, stop using the device and move away. Alert others and call 995 if there is a fire.
Use an appropriate extinguisher only if it is safe to do so and you have a clear escape route.
COMBAT's 6L Fluorine-Free Lithium-Ion Battery Fire Extinguisher is purpose-designed for modern battery fire risks. It has been tested on lithium-ion battery fires up to 600Wh under the NTA 8133:2021 test method.

How Many Batteries Are in Your Bag?
Take a quick look in your bag:
- Smartphone
- Power bank
- Wireless earbuds and charging case
- Laptop or tablet
Many of us carry several lithium-ion batteries through Singapore every day without giving them much thought.
There is no need to stop using the devices we rely on. A few simple habits make a difference:
โ
Avoid leaving batteries in excessive heat.
โ
Check older devices for swelling or damage.
โ
Use suitable chargers and cables.
โ
Review whether your home and workplace are prepared for lithium-ion battery fire risks.
Be prepared for the risks that come with modern devices.

Why Can a Power Bank Catch Fire?
A power bank does not need to be charging when it fails.
A drop, impact, manufacturing defect, or exposure to excessive heat can damage or stress the battery cells. The warning signs may not always be visible from the outside.
In some cases, this can lead to thermal runaway: an internal chain reaction that generates heat and can spread from cell to cell.
If a device becomes unusually hot, starts swelling, emits smoke, or makes a hissing sound, stop using it and move away. Alert others and call 995 if there is a fire.
The technology is useful. It also deserves proper care.

Big Batteries, Big Responsibility.
An e-bike battery is effectively a "fuel tank" made of electricity. If it fails, itโs not a small fireโitโs a jet of flame.
If you ride, you know the convenience. But do you know the risk?
Standard extinguishers are often underpowered for the sheer energy of a large battery pack. You need the cooling power of COMBAT to prevent the "domino effect" where one cell ignites the next.
Ride safe. Charge safer. Keep a COMBAT 6L nearby. Protect your home: https://combatbrandfire.sg/products/fluorine-free-lithium-ion-battery-fire-extinguisher

Safe for the Fire. Safe for the Family.
Many high-performance extinguishers use PFASโ"Forever Chemicals"โthat are effective but toxic to your home environment and the water supply.
When you discharge an extinguisher in your living room, you breathe whatโs inside.
COMBAT is Fluorine-Free. We use a biodegradable agent that is as tough on fires as it is gentle on your home. No toxic residue. No "forever chemicals" left in your carpet.
Effective safety shouldn't come with a health trade-off.
