For years, Jie Yang lived in the background. With his parents focused on his younger brother's medical care, he felt overlooked. That quiet resentment soon turned into stress, anxiety, and acting out at home.
He did not need to be reprimanded. He just needed to be seen and heard.
Through .lakeside, Jie Yang finally found an environment where he belonged. He learned to navigate his complex emotions and manage his anxiety.
Today, that quiet boy has transformed into a confident, communicative child who even volunteers to help his peers.
The right support at the right time completely changes a life.
Donate $300 to engage 3 children meaningfully over the school holidays (8 sessions).
Join us in making a big change with one small act of kindness. Give them the safe space they need to grow today at https://lakeside.org.sg/support-us/towards-a-brave-future/?utm_source=Facebook&utm_medium=social+ads&utm_campaign=Towards+a+Brave+Future&utm_content=Post1

Sometimes all it takes is a small gesture to ignite the quiet courage within a young person.
We see the incredible resilience of our children and youths in our work every single day. We know how meaningful your encouragement and support can be to them, and we invite you to join our movement by extending a hand of hope.
Whether it is a single word written on your palm or a heartfelt phrase held high on a piece of paper, your encouragement provides the support our young people need to keep moving forward.
šøSnap a photo with your message of hope, tag us and to show our children and youths that they have a whole community standing right behind them.
Most of all, give them the support by starting a fundraiser and invite your friends to support us!

What if you could change a young personās future with one small act?
For many of the children and youths we serve, challenges at home and in school can weigh heavily on them which can adversely affect their confidence, decisions, and future.
With the right support and guidance, we believe they can navigate these challenges. The āTowards a Brave Futureā campaign seeks to raise funds for this purpose, to help disadvantaged children and troubled youths.
We provide mentorship and guidance to develop their strengths and help them overcome challenges. We facilitate new experiences and opportunities that they would otherwise not have. We broaden their horizons and open their eyes to a world of full possibilities and a future to aspire to.
Every young person can steer their lives towards a brighter future. A donation of $200 can fund 2 months of youth activities and sports for an at-risk youth, providing a safe and positive outlet for engagement and mentorship. Would you be the wind in their sails today?

When Yee Won arrived in Singapore at six years of age, she could not understand anyone. She found it challenging to make friends and keep up in class, which greatly affected her self-esteem.
After a year in our We Can Read programme, she showed tremendous improvement in literacy. Her journey is a powerful reminder that with the right support, children can overcome challenges and grow into confident learners.
Stories like hers are the reason we are organising the Lakeside Charity Golf & Dinner 2026 on Friday 31 July in support of our programmes serving disadvantaged children, troubled youths, vulnerable seniors, ex-inmates, and their families.
We invite you to support this meaningful cause by sponsoring golf flights, dinner tables, or making a donation. Sponsorships and donations received during our approved campaign period from 01 Apr 2026 to 30 Nov 2026 are eligible for matching under Tote Board's Enhanced Fundraising Programme, subject to programme terms & conditions, and 250% tax deduction.

š Giving is one of the most beautiful ways in which we touch another personās life. Itās an act that brings hope and transforms lives, reminding others that they are not forgotten. It is through giving that we become part of a bigger story where kindness spreads and hearts are uplifted.
Our Season of Giving campaign this Christmas is themed āIt is more blessed to give than to receiveā, and through it we hope to ignite the true meaning of the season by encouraging our friends to make a difference in the lives of those in need. Your generous donation will contribute to festive love gifts for those struggling financially, and support our non-funded work for children, youths, seniors, families, and the incarcerated.
Every donation is more than a gift. Itās a lifeline, a dream fulfilled, and a hope restored. With your generosity, families will have meals to share, children will feel the joy of receiving, and individuals facing struggles will know that they are not alone.
This Christmas, letās choose to give and make the season brighter for everyone. Give now: https://lakeside.org.sg/support-us/donate/season-of-giving/
All donations are eligible for dollar-for-dollar matching by the governmentās Enhanced Fundraising (EFR) Programme.
