I started volunteering at MPS after my A-levels. At a young age, I witnessed MPS providing guidance for my family. Ever since, I wanted to come back one day to give back when I have the ability to contribute meaningfully to MPS sessions. MPS is a special place because not only do we treat residents with sincerity and empathy, volunteers are also receiving love and support from fellow volunteers and residents.

The support system for the junior volunteers encouraged us to grow and empower us, regardless of age, to give back to the community via the MPS sessions.

Through MPS, I listened to a diverse range of situations from various residents. I used to know cases from news articles but hearing them from residents face to face changed my view of these cases. They are important problems facing people living around us, and not cold facts that we are informed of. It ignited a desire in me to advocate for them to the best of my abilities through the letters and not merely checking off yet another task of writing a letter. MPS increased my confidence in communicating with people from different backgrounds, and provided me with a lot of inspirations from fellow volunteers to participate in other volunteering activities beyond just MPS.
