♦️CONDOLENCE STATEMENT ON THE PASSING OF GEN.JOSEPH LAGU♦️

With profound sadness and heavy hearts, the Progressive Socialist Party (PSP) has received the painful news of the passing of Retired Gen.Joseph Lagu .

On behalf of the General Secretary, the Political Bureau, the National Secretariat, and the entire membership of the Progressive Socialist Party across South Sudan, we convey our deepest sorrow for this great loss.

Gen. Joseph Lagu was a committed liberator and leader of Anyanya one.
He was known among his comrades for his humility, his dedication to liberation struggle and his firm belief in independent South Sudan.

South Sudan has lost a loyal leader, and a patriot who believed in equality, peace, and dignity.

In this moment of grief, we extend our heartfelt and sincere condolences to his family, his children, his relatives, his community, and to all his comrades and friends who knew and loved him.

We pray that the Almighty grants his soul eternal rest, and grants his family courage, strength and comfort to bear this immense loss.

Gen. Joseph Lagu may be gone physically, but his spirit and his ideals will continue to live in our struggle for a just and progressive South Sudan.

May his soul rest in eternal peace.

PSP POLITICAL SCHOOL CADRES TRAINING SESSION 3 THIRD WEEK:

Juba, Sunday 25th October 2026 - Today, the PSP Political School hosted a high-level visit during the ongoing Cadres Training Session at the Party's Headquarters in Munuki.

The visiting team comprised of Hon. Ricgard Secretary General of National Alliance of Political Parties (NAPP) and Hon. Salim Juma the Chairperson of Civil Socialist Party(CSP).

The two leaders were warmly received by PSP leadership and cadres. They toured the training, addressed the cadres, and commended PSP for investing in ideological training, political discipline, and leadership development to it's members.

In their remarks, Hon. Ricgard and Hon. Salim Juma emphasized the importance of inter-party cooperation, national unity, peace, and building a strong cadres that serves the people, not self-interest.

The cadres are undergoing intensive training on Party ideology, Constitution,organization, mobilization, political communication, and leadership skills.

PSP remains committed to building a disciplined, informed, and patriotic leadership.

Political and Organizational Cadre School Enters Its Third Week

The Political and Organizational Cadre Training School, as part of the activities of its second cohort, continues its training programme at the Progressive Socialist Party headquarters in Munuki, Block (A). The programme features active participation by trainees in scheduled lectures and workshops.
The school aims to equip party cadres with political and organizational knowledge and skills, enhance their theoretical understanding and practical abilities, and improve their effectiveness in party work. These efforts are intended to strengthen organizational performance and promote the principles of institutional work.
These training programmes reflect the party’s commitment to building the capacity of its members, developing their political and organizational skills, and preparing cadres capable of taking on responsibilities and contributing effectively to the implementation of the party’s programmes and the achievement of its objectives.

مدرسة الكادر السياسي والتنظيمي تواصل أسبوعها الثالث
تواصل مدرسة الكادر للتدريب السياسي والتنظيمي، ضمن فعاليات الدفعة الثانية، برنامجها التدريبي بمقر الحزب في مونيكي، مربع (A)، بمشاركة المتدربين في المحاضرات وورش العمل المقررة ضمن البرنامج.
وتهدف المدرسة، من خلال هذه الدورة، إلى تأهيل الكوادر سياسيًا وتنظيميًا، وتنمية قدراتهم المعرفية والعملية، ورفع كفاءتهم في العمل الحزبي، بما يسهم في تعزيز الأداء التنظيمي وترسيخ مبادئ العمل المؤسسي.
وتأتي هذه البرامج التدريبية في إطار اهتمام الحزب ببناء قدرات أعضائه وتطوير مهاراتهم السياسية والتنظيمية، وإعداد كوادر قادرة على تحمل المسؤوليات والمساهمة بفاعلية في تنفيذ برامج الحزب وتحقيق أهدافه.

واصلت مدرسة الكادر للتدريب السياسي والتنظيمي، لدفعة الثانية، بدار الحزب بمونيكي بلك(A)، فعاليات الاسبوع الثاني من برنامج الدفعة الثانية وسط مشاركة المتدربين في المحاضرات وورش العمل المقررة.
وتهدف المدرسة من خلال هذه الدورة إلى تاهيل الكوادر سياسيا وتنظيميا، ورفع كفاءتهم في العمل الحزبي.

Progressive Socialist Party Participates in Forum to Promote Women’s Political Participation.

The Progressive Socialist Party (PSP) participated in the forum “Women and the Ballot Box: Towards Effective Electoral Participation,” organized by Nyot Kok Foundation on 16 October 2026 at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Juba. The party was represented by a delegation of four colleagues, led by colleague Kanen Biel.
The forum was held under the “Women in the Ballot Box” initiative, which focuses on digital skills for civic literacy.
The forum aimed to strengthen the capacities of women involved in political parties and prepare them for effective participation in upcoming elections. The forum achieved this through training sessions and discussions on electoral processes, democratic participation, civic engagement, and women’s roles and responsibilities in elections.
In her remarks at the forum, colleague Kanen Biel emphasized that the Progressive Socialist Party believes women can contribute to political and party work on an equal footing with men, based on competence, capabilities, and readiness to assume responsibility.
She explained that the party’s internal regulations do not specify a fixed percentage for women’s representation within its organizational structures. She noted that the party believes meaningful participation should be based on competence and proper preparation rather than meeting representational quotas. In her view, such quotas could result in women being assigned responsibilities without the necessary experience simply to fulfill a predetermined representation target.
She further stated that the party places importance on training and supporting women and strengthening their self-confidence to enable them to participate effectively in political and organizational work.
At the conclusion of her remarks, Kanen Biel thanked Nyot Kok Foundation for inviting the Progressive Socialist Party to participate in the forum. She also called on South Sudanese women to engage in public affairs so that they can become part of the decision-making process.
The participation of the party’s delegation and Kanen Biel’s contribution reflect the Progressive Socialist Party’s interest in developing women’s political capacities, strengthening their presence in public life, and creating opportunities for them to contribute to building the party’s institutions and participating in the democratic process.

الحزب الاشتراكي التقدمي يشارك في منتدى تعزيز المشاركة السياسية للمرأة

شارك الحزب الاشتراكي التقدمي بوفد ضم أربع زميلات، تراسته الزميلة كنين بيل، في منتدى " المرأة وصندوق الاقتراع: نحو مشاركة انتخابية فاعلة"، الذي نظمته مؤسسة نوت كوك( Nyot Kok Foundation)، يوم 16 اكتوبر 2026، بفندق راديسون بلو في جوبا، ضمن مبادرة " نسوان في صندوق " ( المهارات الرقمية من أجل الثقافة المدنية).
هدف المنتدى إلى تعزيز قدرات النساء المنخرطات في الاحزاب السياسية، وتأهيلهن للمشاركة الفاعلة في الانتخابات المقبلة، من خلال التدريب والنقاش حول العمليات الانتخابية، والمشاركة الديمقراطية، والانخراط المدني، وادوار المرأة ومسئولياتها في الاستحقاقات الانتخابية.
في كلمتها خلال المنتدى، اكدت الزميلة كنين بيل أن الحزب يؤمن بقدرة المرأة على الاسهام في العمل السياسي والحزبي على قدم المساواة مع الرجل، انطلاقا من الكفاءة والقدرات والاستعداد لتحمل المسؤولية.
وأوضحت أن النظام الداخلي للحزب لا يحدد نسبة مئوية ثابتة للمرأة في هياكله التنظيمية، مشيرة إلى أن الحزب يرى أن المشاركة الفاعلة ينبغي أن تقوم على الكفاءة والتأهيل، لا على استكمال نسب تمثيلية قد تؤدي، بحسب وجهة نظرها، إلى إسناد المسؤوليات للنساء دون الخبرة اللازمة لمجرد تحقيق نسبة محددة.
واضافت أن الحزب يولي اهتماما بتدريب النساء ودعمهن، وتعزيز ثقتهن بأنفسهن، بما يمكنهن من المشاركة الفاعلة في العمل السياسي والتنظيمي. اختتمت كلمتها، بتوجيه الشكر لمؤسسة "نوت كوك"، على دعوتها الحزب الاشتراكي التقدمي إلى المشاركة في هذا المنتدى. كما دعت المرأة الجنوبية إلى المشاركة في العمل العام حتى تكون جزءا من صناع القرار.
تعكس مشاركة وفد الحزب ومداخلة الزميلة كنين أهتمام الحزب بتطوير قدرات المرأة السياسية، وتعزيز حضورها في الحياة العامة، وإتاحة الفرصة امامها للمساهمة في بناء مؤسسات الحزبية والمشاركة في العملية الديمقراطية.

Progressive Socialist Party General Secretary Opens Second Batch of Party Cadre School

The General Secretary of the Progressive Socialist Party, Engineer Adil Mayom, officially opened the second Batch of the Party Cadre School on Sunday, October 11, 2026, at the party headquarters in Munuki, Block A.

The school reflects the party’s ongoing commitment to strengthening its cadres' intellectual, political, and organizational capacities while promoting the principles of party discipline, commitment, and responsibility.

In his opening remarks, Engineer Mayom emphasized the importance of discipline and adherence to the party’s constitution and political program. He stressed that party cadres must stay closely connected to the people, represent their aspirations and concerns, and serve as role models through their conduct, attitudes, and everyday actions.

He further urged the trainees to remain focused and make the most of the lectures and training sessions. He encouraged them to ask questions, engage actively in discussions, and deepen their political and organizational understanding. He noted that these efforts would help strengthen their capacity to fulfill their party and community responsibilities effectively and responsibly.

The Party Cadre School is part of the Progressive Socialist Party’s broader efforts to develop politically conscious, disciplined, and well-trained cadres who are equipped to fulfill their responsibilities to both the party and society and contribute meaningfully to the realization of the party’s objectives.
