We Get Out The Resistance

At our Annual meeting, our speakers from the BOE talked about how being a good citizen means volunteering at the polls- so here is your opportunity to be trained as a Poll inspector! We’ve included an important note from the BOE here:

To ensure that we can accommodate all of our staff and maintain a smooth operation of services, we are UNABLE to offer rescheduling options.
This helps to ensure that everyone has a fair chance to schedule a class. Please call The Board Of Elections @ 518-270-2990 if you have any questions or concerns. We appreciate your understanding.

✅ I'm introducing legislation that will ban the use of masks by ICE agents in New York State. When agents of the federal government are operating like masked militias, we’ve crossed a dangerous line by turning immigration enforcement into a paramilitary secret police force that should shock the nation’s collective conscience.

This goes beyond immigration enforcement; it’s intimidation, and it echoes authoritarian regimes, not the United States of America.

While I have long supported comprehensive immigration reform at the national level, I’m introducing the MELT Act today to restore transparency, accountability, and the rule of law to immigration enforcement before these tactics and the fear they create in our communities become normalized.

These tactics make all of us less safe by reducing interactions between law enforcement, our judicial system, and our immigrant communities by intentionally striking fear into them. In New York State, we won't stand for this chaos.

Indivisible National's Next Plan - Sign up for the next three Wednesday trainings

Constituent power (calling and protesting electeds) is no longer enough, it's necessary but not sufficient in this era of authoritarian breakthrough where the Trump regime is trying to consolidate power, create a feeling of inevitability, and going after the alternative sources of power to be sure they do not resist them.

We will need to do things differently.

Attend the One Million Rising Trainings to find out what that means. Link below.

These and other ideas will be explained in the One Million Rising trainings on:

• Session 1: Wednesday, July 16 | 8:00–9:30pm ET

• Session 2: Wednesday, July 30 | 8:00–9:30pm ET

• Session 3: Wednesday, August 13 | 8:00–9:30pm ET

Across the country, authoritarian forces are getting bolder and more dangerous. Trump and his allies are not hiding their agenda: mass deportations, rollbacks of civil rights, weaponized courts, and full-scale attacks on our democracy. We don’t have to wait until it’s too late. We can stop this....
