The Marshal's Office executes all writs and mandates issued by the Alexandria City Court and all Warrants of Arrest issued by the court. LARS 13:1881.

We will assists any and all Law Enforcement Agencies when called upon. General powers and duties of marshal; deputy marshals

The marshal is the executive officer of the court; he shall execute the orders and mandates of the court and in the ex*****on thereof, and in making arrests and preserving the peace, he has the same powers and authority of a sheriff.

The Alexandria City Marshal’s Office was proud to serve as a sponsor and join our fellow law enforcement agencies for this year’s National Night Out at the Alexandria Zoological Park!

With more than 1,200 attendees, including Governor Jeff Landry, the evening was a wonderful opportunity to connect with families, engage with our community, and strengthen the relationships that help make Alexandria a safer place to live.

From children exploring law enforcement vehicles to meeting the officers who serve and protect our community, the evening was filled with smiles and laughter.

We extend our appreciation to the Alexandria, La Police Department for organizing such a successful event and to all the sponsors, law enforcement partners and families who helped make the night possible. 💙

New Louisiana driving law alert!

A quick reminder for Louisiana drivers: the left lane is for passing and not cruising.

Under Louisiana law (R.S. 32:71), drivers should avoid continuously traveling in the left lane. If another vehicle is attempting to pass, move to the right when it’s safe to do so. Drivers traveling below the posted speed limit should remain in the right lane unless passing another vehicle or preparing for a left turn.

Following proper lane etiquette helps:
• Keep traffic moving
• Reduce congestion
• Prevent unsafe passing
• Make our roadways safer for everyone

Receiving a citation can be stressful, but knowing your next steps can help.

✓ Read your citation carefully and review all instructions.
✓ Take note of important dates, including your scheduled court date or payment deadline.
✓ Follow the instructions provided for appearing in court or addressing the citation.
✓ Don’t ignore it. Failing to respond or appear as required may result in additional consequences.
✓ Have questions? Contact the appropriate court for information regarding your citation.
