A few sprinkles/light rain possible this morning, and again tonight, for areas across eastern Ohio and northwest Pennsylvania. Otherwise, dry and warm weather will continue until widespread rain returns late Wednesday.

While you work on that pile of Halloween candy, take a look at the climate summary for October. Overall, the month could be classified as warmer than normal, and it was drier than normal in many cases, particularly eastern Ohio. Top-10 warmest and driest conditions were observed at New Philly, and top-10 driest conditions occurred at Zanesville. However: note that the month goes in the books as wetter than normal for Pittsburgh, despite the last 14 days of the month featuring zero rain! More than half of the month's rain fell on the 11th, when 1.99 inches of rain was measured.

You may have to squint to see it, but there are some sprinkles on the radar loop here. While virtually all of this is not measurable, a few locations are seeing their first raindrops in two weeks! Pitt International is NOT one of those locations as of this posting. We are still targeting Wednesday/Wednesday night for the next decent chance of rain.

If you're up late tonight sorting through all the candy, fear not! We get an extra hour of sleep as the clocks fall back at 2am Sunday morning (to all of our fellow night shift workers, hang in there tonight). This is a good time to check batteries in important devices before heading to bed too ⬇.

Dry weather is expected to continue until rain chances return toward the middle of next week. Warmer than average temperatures will also continue, though clouds will increase this weekend.

After one of the wettest starts to October ever we haven't seen a drop of rain at the Pittsburgh airport in 12 days. We have very low chances of rain on Sunday night but by the time the streak comes to an end next week it could be one of our top 10 longest stretches of dry weather ever!
