We have had some great education here at Cheatham EMS in October! Two weeks ago we had a 6 hr pediatric class with Vandy CRPC and Vandy NICU Outreach Teams. Special Thanks to Jennifer Porter, Jillian Brown, Mary Lee Lemley, Meghan Arms for a fantastic class. We will be hosting two more of these Pediatric classes this year on November 17th, and December 1st. If anyone needs Peds hours here at the end of the year, you are welcome to attend. These classes are free.

Yesterday, we hosted a 4 hour Trauma Series with Skyline featuring Dr. Darrell Hunt (Chief of Trauma At Skyline), Dr. Steve Press (Facial Trauma Surgeon), and Savannah Carroll (Skyline Burn Unit). What a day of fantastic, engaging education! We are hosting another Trauma Series day on November 3rd. All are welcome to attend.

We are very proud to partner with Vanderbilt and Tri Star for our educational needs and consider them both valued partners.

I have posted a few pictures of our education sessions for this month.

Hi everyone who knows and loves Josh and Jessica. I am reaching out because they need your help. Josh has been diagnosed with cancer. It's in his esophagus and liver, and there are still many unknowns. Sadly, doctors say surgery won't help. Only chemotherapy and radiation can. They have a long road

Today we had some wonderful fellowship with the employees. Critical Care Paramedic Curtis Day has accepted another job with First Call Ambulance and will begin his new endeavor starting Monday. CCP Day has been employed with us for 13 years. He has been an outstanding employee and asset to Cheatham County EMS and our citizens. On top of being a great clinician, he is most importantly a great man, husband, father, and son. We wish you nothing but the best and we will forever miss you.

The man in the picture is Aaron Merritt. He is a long time Paramedic with Cheatham County EMS. Paramedic Merritt and his family reside in Kingston Springs. When asked by the Cheatham County Exchange to interview an employee about the events that occurred on 9/11 and what it meant to be a first responder, I couldn’t think of a more humble and soft spoken person than Aaron Merritt. Being a first responder and a public servant is more than just a job title, it can define a purpose of what you were meant to do. Paramedic Merritt has been and will continue to be a gift to our department and the citizens he serves. He never likes the spotlight but he deserves a shout out and the spotlight everyday.

The article will be in the comments.
