We're having another Community Engagement Pop-up this Sunday at the Weekend Wind Down!
The City of Avondale Estates is embarking on an exciting, community-driven effort to shape what comes next for our downtown and for the city as a whole. Every five years, the City is required by the State to update the Comprehensive Plan and the Downtown Master Plan.
While two distinct plans will be developed, both share a common goal: creating a future that reflects the City's character, values, and aspirations.
This would not be possible without the help of our community. We want to hear from as many of you all as we can. Come chat with us and share your ideas this Sunday. We will have tents at the Town Green Plaza from 6 to 8 p.m. Come fill out our boards and take our survey, then go enjoy the free concert!

This morning the President of the Avondale Estates Garden Club, Julie Martinez (center) and the President of the Avon Garden Club, Erin Vaughn (right) spoke at the Blue Star Memorial Highway marker. They shared the history of the markers and what a blue star means for families of those in the service.
Mayor Pro Tem Graham Reiney (left) welcomed the crowd. Commissioners Lyda Steadman and Luis Suazo were also in attendance alongside community members, veterans, and members of the American Legion Post 66.
Blue Star Memorial Highways honor U.S. Armed Forces. Created in 1945 by the National Council of State Garden Clubs (now National Garden Clubs, Inc.), it uses the blue star from WWII service flags as a living tribute to all who serve.
