On this Indigenous Peoples' Day, we honor the rich heritage and enduring traditions of the and all First Peoples nations.
One tradition that has endured is stickball. This game has helped preserve Creek traditions and provides a meaningful link to the past.
More than just a game, it is a deeply rooted cultural practice that historically helped resolve disputes and strengthen community bonds.
Today, stickball remains a vibrant expression of Poarch Creek's history of resilience. You can see stickball demonstrations at this year's annual Pow Wow, happening this Thanksgiving and following Friday.

Behind every spotless room and welcoming space at CIEDA stands our dedicated housekeeping team, who never ask for the spotlight.

Today, on National Custodian's Day, we want to change that.

To our housekeeping staff, thank you! Your attention to detail, your pride in your work, and your steady commitment shape the experience of everyone who walks through our doors.

You show up early. You work hard. You take care of the details most people never see. And because of you, our spaces feel clean, cared for, and welcoming every single day. We see you, we appreciate you, and we are sincerely grateful for everything you do.

For CIEDA, sovereignty is a foundational component of progress and prosperity.

Last week, Stephanie Bryan, our Tribal Chair and CEO, testified before the U.S. Senate Committee on Indian Affairs in support of S. 1750, the Poarch Band of Creek Indians Parity Act. We are grateful for every effort to protect our Tribe’s trust lands and sovereign status—both are essential for ongoing economic progress.

We understand that every job created and each new business development depends on having a stable legal foundation. Safeguarding our sovereignty is not separate from our mission—it is critical to it. Having secured lands enables us to continue building a stronger future for the communities we serve.

Find out more about Tribal Chair/CEO Stephanie Bryan’s testimony and the significance of the Parity Act for future economic development below.

We're proud to share that OWA Parks & Resort recently hosted its 8th Annual Magic Moments Day, welcoming 61 families and 275 participants from across Alabama for a day of joy and connection.

For eight years, OWA has partnered with Magic Moments — Alabama's only wish-granting organization for children facing serious medical conditions — to create lasting memories that extend well beyond a single day. This reflects the Poarch Creek Indians' commitment to continue investing in the communities we serve directly and through their business enterprises.
