Que bonito sería lograr todo lo que visualizamos sin tener que batallar. 🥲 pero bueno, between everything happening in my personal life and everything our immigrant community is going through, there are moments when community work like this takes a toll on my emotional and mental wellbeing.
Running Buenas Lotería Club isn’t always easy, but I feel extremely blessed to do it anyways. ❤️🔥
WE’RE SHOWING UP EVEN WHEN WE’RE TIRED!!!!!ESPECIALLY WHEN THINGS GET HARD!!!!!
That’s not to say that our wellbeing comes second, because it doesn’t. But doing what we can, when we can, is when magic happens.
Seeing our community and allies come together is BEAUTIFUL. I am blessed to see people show up for one another, celebrate our culture, our undocumented neighbors, and find joy even when things feel heavy.
I think about how many immigrants leave everything they know behind to build a better future for themselves and their families. How hard we work. How much we sacrifice. How we keep dreaming even when the odds are stacked against us.
We shouldn’t have to fight this hard just to live, work, and dream about a future. But I find so much strength in seeing our people keep going, and it reminds me that I want to keep showing up, too.
So if things feel hard right now, this is your reminder not to give up on yourself or the things you believe in. Take a pause, lean on your people, y a seguir adelante.
And if you want to show up for our immigrant community, come play lotería with us this Sunday! 🇲🇽🪅🫘
