The Department of Texas represents all Texas Posts and serves the needs of all veterans of US Armed Forces and their families. The American Legion was chartered and incorporated by Congress in 1919 as a patriotic veterans organization devoted to mutual helpfulness. June is officially designated as PTSD Awareness Month. It is an annual campaign dedicated to raising public understanding, reducing the stigma around mental health, and highlighting that effective, evidence-based treatments for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) are available.

For the first time, the House voted to halt the War on Wednesday.

It was the fourth time the chamber voted on a resolution to end the three-month war and the first time it succeeded, in a 215-208 vote.
